"Just signed up..."
Uh-oh... :)
|
BTW, the whales haven't even gotten their catalogs yet, so it's way too early to comment on prices.
|
Now if you pay for my bidding advice and appraisal services, you're home free.
Just be warned, I grew up in Wisconsin and will probably have you bidding on Cecil Cooper and Gorman Thomas lots. "In good conscience, I can't allow you to bit on a Yankees card." |
Chao.....party of 1.....
|
I have a few cards in mind I am sure I can give the whales a run for their money.:D
|
I've had my preliminary bids in for a little while now... now waiting another entire month until the auction ends is going to suck.
|
That hurts. I've been doing my sit ups and watching my ice cream.

Yeah I will not bid until the last couple of minutes I see no point in doing so. I know I will lose some and win some but yeah that is the game right.

I will have to read them. Do you have the link to their rules trying to find them and can't seem to locate them on their website? |

I can stand with the best of them if I really have to but will not go crazy and over bid like no tomorrow...no need to waste cash just to prove a point. I just purchased a 52 Topps Mantle rookie in PSA 4 for 12950$ so yes I can for sure stand my own with the whales. Here are a few cards I have added to my collection the 1887 old Judge my brother was the buyer and we decided to split the cost 50/50: Links: 1909 E90-1 Caramel Mike Mitchell: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/400328924290?...84.m1497.l2649 1909 T206 Ray Demmitt error card: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/321106309561?...84.m1497.l2649 1887 Old Judge Harry Wright PSA 5: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/230963589536?...84.m1497.l2649 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 4: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/271189783652?...84.m1497.l2649 |
I actually looked at this auction house. never used it before, but theres several items i like to own.
You guys keep bidding on the 1st issue of Playboy...while i might sneak and grab a lot. BTW- Heritage is running..and has nice stuff there...but REA has much better items for my goal searching needs, tho HA does have several low-end 52 #311 RC's for bid. HECK, i placed bids everywhere...SHHH!! dont tell the old lady...She wont know. |

Hahaha lolllll just taking a 45 minute brake from the chaos here at work. |
45 minute "brake" and ability to drop 10K+ on cards? Im in the wrong profession.

Mine is way nicer than 95% to 99% of them there so I am OK with the price and VERY happy with my Mantle rookie. I went to that site before buying and concluded that mine was worth the price it is as nice a graded 4 comes. And have have had 2 serious offers from other people already for it for more than I paid for it so I did good!!! |

I understand I have bid on some very rare coins in the past at auctions and I realize starting prices mean nothing in the end. Win some lose some at least we get another day to put up a fight. |

Was on Ebay only a few minutes then I purchased it I was lucky to find it at that specific time (was just checking a few minutes before and it was not there then about a hour later it showed up on Ebay). I check Ebay ALL the time and every couple of hours for cards I want for my collection....the only way to get those cards we want before others do. Yes I am a dedicated collector like I said I only know a little on pre war cards but a lot on post war cards. |

Yes I am aware of his 51 Bowman card I know it is his true rookie but the 52 Topps is way way more in demand with collectors. I will bu ya 51 Bowman one day. |
Bestdj777
Did not want people to know until I had received it threw the mail. To prevent others from trying to get the card outside of Ebay threw the seller...this has happened in the past to me a few times....I know how to protect myself from this now. |
congrats on the nice cards and prices paid.

Well, whenever you can get around to it, please do share with the group. And have a tremendous day. |

I will buy the 51 Bowman for sure one day probably in PSA 7. But tome some this is his Topps Rookie card since Topps started in 52. That is why I say rookie card. |
Eric72
What card are you referring to with the water mark? I have the Mantle in my hand and all looks good there is a mark on the Mike Mitchell error card from the E90-1 Caramel set. |
my xmas wish list is here !

I would love to see your collection. Do you have a camera phone by chance? |

Lollllll!!! |
Adrian, I gotta say congrats, man. Boy, you are aggressive! I haven't seen anything like it. But you bought popular cards that will probably increase in value. Personally, I can't say about the prices, I honestly don't know much about Mantle prices or anything outside of the 19th Century stuff. But you've got to be happy with cards. The Harry Wright, yes it is faded, but it is still Harry Wright, and a PSA 5. Can't be too bad. So I send you congratulations, and as long as you're enjoying yourself and the hobby, then rave on!!!

Thanks sir means a lot!!! Yes I am having a lot of fun I quite collecting coins (To many bad people and to many other bad things in that hobby) and now only focusing of rarer cards....sold off my last coin the other day and that allowed me to pick up all these cards and a few others in the future. Yes the Old Judge card I am very happy to own he was a pioneer of baseball (Uniforms and Stats). |

Guys I did win all 4 Leon or someone can contact Tonyetrade and ask and you will be told I did purchase the Mantle and the PSA 5 Old Judge card if the seller is allowed to say that or not I do not know the privacy laws.

Then you now know I was indeed the wining bidder on the 1887 Old Judge and 52 Topps Mantle. |
Man I wish I had something Adrian was looking for! Price doesn't seem to be much of a factor.

I only pay what I think is right for a card based on the look of the card no the holder...I wiser than that learned from been a sucker in the card trade before cards where graded by companies. |

Speak to Leon in private he will explain the whole picture of my tactics to you. |

Is it not a team variation error card that is what I believed? I purchased the card because I knew it was rare and I collect rarer cards I supposed it was a card like the T206 Ray Demmitt and Bill O'Hara I must be wrong.
To be honest I never even heard of this card before a few weeks ago. |

Pretty much had a few bad experiences with coin dealers in the past. And that really sucked BIG time!!! Trying to stay away and prevent it from happening again. I do not know much about the dealers I purchased from so I decided to protect myself. I personally think that is understandable....and then again maybe you do not....but I do!!! |
