1972 HOF signed book
Quote:
Your HOF signed book is awesome! I especially like that it appears that all signers used the same ball point pen. Extra credit points for that. Congrats! ;):D |
Thanks guys.
I am really excited about it. Let's see what everyone else picked up! Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 |
Awesome pickup Mark. I'm still waiting on you to sell me that '77 HOF program. ;)
This is the opposite of a vintage pickup, but I got it at the minor league park today. An uncut sheet of cards from my local Class A team that I got signed after the game. I think there are two or three guys on this team that have a chance at the Bigs... 21 out of 30 cards are auto'd and 3 of them I'm missing are coaches. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...uncutsheet.jpg |
Mark,
LOVE IT. Very nicely done. |
Jarrod,
Don't hold your breath on that!:D Very nice sheet BTW. It's always cool when you can get an item like that done all at once. Coop, Thanks very much |

38 Goudey Heads-Up
2 Attachment(s)
Well, picked up this signed Jimmie Foxx 1938 Goudey Heads Up for a steal on the bay in looking at comparables. It got certified through PSA/DNA (which I don't care, I want a slab protection on the card). And would like to give Jim and Richard a shout out again for their help. Will post pics in slab upon receipt.

HOF Rookies,
You are on quite the roll. Great pickups. I love the Foxx. It really was a great deal. Congrats. Mark |

When you get a steal like that, the condition wouldn't matter to me either.

How much did it go for?

Bought this one today from Richard Simon. A neat 3 stooges signed photo from their last movie together.
http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/3stooges.jpg Got this one from Jim Stinson this past Saturday. A Honus Wagner signed cut. http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/a...onuswagner.jpg |

Lou Gehrig Autograph 1933 DeLong Rookie Card
2 Attachment(s)
Alright folks, the moment a lot of you have been waiting for and asking what my huge purchase was going to be. I kept it quiet to ensure that I got it, and boy did I ever get it. This was a once in a lifetime purchase for me, a Lou Gehrig autographed 1933 DeLong rookie card (yes I know all the banter for rookies, but if the 33 Goudey can be a rookie, why can't this. All that matters is I consider it one).
Never thought I would own a Gehrig signed card. He had a five year window to sign this, I consider this to be one of the rarest and most difficult signed cards of a HOF'er to obtain based on how difficult it would be to get him to sign this before his disease took his toll in '39 when he stopped signing. I know autograph is faint, card is not in the best shape, but I don't give a damn, it's a Lou Gehrig autographed rookie card!!! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do, so enjoy! |
Beautiful Lou! Congrats!

Brent,
Very nice Gehrig. I too have been watching it for a very looong time. I asked the seller about it at least a year ago, if not more. at the time, he was unwilling to move much and I couldn't convince myself of the $4k value. To me it's not a rookie (neither is the 33 Goudey), but that doesn't really matter. A nice signed Gehrig card is still a nice signed Gehrig card. Congrats and enjoy it. Mark |
Quote:
I didn't pay the prices listed for the listing, but what sold me was it's a Gehrig signed card, simple enough. They're tough, and it's a sweet set. Any DeLong experts here? Why is this card 3x as much more than Goudey? As these more scarce? Thanks |
I would assume there were less Delongs produced, but am not sure. I would ask the Delong question on the card side.

Picked this up via a trade last week with Lordstan (Thanks Mark!). A 1959 Street and Smith with an in-person Mantle sig. This brings my Mantle signed mags to 5 and I hope to add a couple more before years end.

Mike,
That's a pretty nice magazine. Looks awfully familiar. Hmmmm. Enjoy. BTW. Your home looks great. I can't wait to see where you hang this one. Mark |

Pretty Excited to add this one to my collection! Picked it up from a board member: Thanks Jeff!
|
Mike...
Just out of curiosity, what does Mantle say about the importance of singles?
|
Quote:
Mark, thanks! This magazine's looking kinda lonely. Maybe you should send over that Mantle Sports Ill. :D |
Dave,
Very nice! Looks like the check found a nice new home. Jeff |
Mike,
You mean this one? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2.../Lou/MMUSI.jpg Funny thing. When I found this it still had the cardboard that we used to price it back in the late 80's/early 90's http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ou/MMUSIbk.jpg Who wants to buy it for that amount?:D |
Quote:
I would gladly pay $75 for that. :D |
Mark, I will be jumping in to my DeLorean, cranking it up to 88, and seeing you soon. Hoping you'll also have a Mantle ball if I throw in an additional $25. :D:D:D Hmmm, maybe I'll need to request an early Christmas gift from the wife!

I want to play. Here's my Mickey Mag. 1956 Sport.

C'mon you guys, stop trying to feed my addiction! :D
|
Packs,
That is one of the most beautiful Mantle mags I have seen. Love it! Let me know if it you ever decide to sell...:D |
Sorry
Mike,
I am sorry. I didn't mean to feed the beast. James, I would buy it for $75 as well! Packs, That is a nice one. Last one as this is really the pick up thread and I don't want to clog it up. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...port195610.jpg |

Mark, do you take Paypal? :) |
Ryan,
For that price, I would think you would drive to my house and give me cash! |
Ok, Deal!
|
Heck, for that price I might be willing to drive to your house and pay cash.
|
Mike,
That seems like a pretty long drive. :D Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk 2 |
Ray Schalk 1931 vintage signed album page
1 Attachment(s)
I just picked up this nice 1931 signed album page of HOF catching great Ray Schalk.
Ray Schalk played for the 1919 Black Sox, but he was was of the "Clean Sox" players. Schalk was unique in that he caught 3 no-hitters (including Charlie Robertson's perfect game) as well as an "unofficial" no-hitter. Pretty awesome early vintage signature of Mr. Schalk that I'm happy to add to my collection... |
