I know absolutely nothing about what ya'll are doing and don't follow the hoops too much.....but if there will be a winner of this Net54 sports contest, I will hand out a Net54baseball T-shirt to them....if that is appropriate?

Got a Question for the Old timers of the Madness Game(maybe tBob, or any other Vet of the Net54 Tourney)

At some point... Do I need to "LOCK" the game? I guess my thoughts are, So we can't switch our brackets out/in with what we already have selected? I Hope this makes sense!? I thought I remembered that this was done for a certain reason...Hmmm

Any help in this area will do... Just wanna make sure I'm not missin' anthing!

I'm still wondering why though... My only thought is so we/others can't switch out their Bracket? But Doesn't the game Lock itself after the start of the games?

I'm really just curious... :confused:

I am the current trophy holder and will most likely be relinquishing it in a few weeks. I am still shocked I won last year and have no hopes of repeating this year. The trophy (Hal Chase T206 with loving cup) is the only graded card in my collection so I will be glad to hand it off and be back to 100% raw cards.

Thought I'd make it a bit more interesting since the others before me were gracious enough to do so.

My hopes are that we all enjoy this years Net54 Madness as others have had in the past... I Know that You guyz/galz are a Grand Bunch and I'm just Blessed to be part of such an Awesome Group... "Truly!"

(If you don't already have an EPSN.com account, you'll need to create one before you can join the NET54 tournament group. This is a pretty painless procedure and takes little time at all.)

There is no money involved in this pool, though the top three finishers will receive prizes.

First place: The winner gets custody of the Hal Chase "traveling trophy," pictured! Alan will send it on to the New Winner. Winner agrees to take good care of the card for a year, promises to not try to sell it on eBay or the B/S/T and vows to mail it to next year's winner.

First-place winnner also gets the Tshirt from Leon(THANKS LEON FOR THE GRACIOUS DONATION!).

Second place: Choice of The Awesome PreWar Card Tray(Pictured) or "BASEBALL" a Film by Ken Burns (DVD Includes 10th inning)

Looks like we're doing fairly well! We presently have 59 people signed uP for the Tourney... Should be Very Interesting to see how this All Plays Out;)

Well I went to Western Kentucky University... and now lookathere, they won that playin game. I went to the regular season games in 1971, when they eventually went to the Final Four. The Hilltoppers beat Kentucky that year. It isn't very likely to happen this year, but I look forward to the game.


I'm still annoyed with the playin thing. And I think that if the NCAA is going to do it, then it should be for at large teams. Anyone that represents a conference with an automatic bid should automatically be in the real tournament. I admit a bit of bias there, but I'm just sayin'...

The label got an upgraded since my hand written label, it really got fancy. I think it needs duck tape.

I was fortunate enough to win the Net 54 contest twice and I was the one who added the scotch tape to the slab (pretty, huh?) because the label was coming off and falling to the side. :D

Well, The pit was a lot of fun yesterday, but I've got to admit that the boys from Baylor seem to be the class of the region. Wow are they a physically imposing bunch:eek:

With strong wins by KSU and ISU, the Big 12 looks like the real deal right now, and Denny, as for your Mizzou team? Anybody that beat that team from Baylor 3 times has a chance against anybody.

Boy, did Norfolk State ever put a cramp in MY style today!:(

Big 12? Texas, Mizzou, K-State are all gone and Iowa State will be gone in 3 hours after they play Kentucky. Kansas is overrated and Baylor is a train wreck, talented but in trouble.
The Pac-12 was horrible this year but the Big 12 was very overrated.

Arkansans just don't like the Big 12....it's in the water. I've never liked that conference.

I was never crazy about the Big 12 either. It was bad enough having the SWC break up, but then getting absorbed into the Big 12 added more insult. Looking forward to renewing the Arkansas-A&M rivalry over in the SEC.

I'm also looking forward to beating down A&M every year...just the way we used to and have the past three years in football :D

I didn't join the group in time, but frankbmd 1, my only bracket, is currently at 930.

My other bracket contest will be more profitable, but I'll forever regret not winning a Net54 T shirt.

However, I had Syracuse going through to the final 2, so the most I can get in the next round is 160.

2nd year in a row where I could have flipped a coin and done just as well.

I'm sitting in the bunch tied at 19th - aka no chance.

However, my wife is leading in her work pool of like 100 people. She is in the 99.8% grouping on ESPN, something like 11,000th in the country out of 6.5 million entries, and nailed all 4 Final Four teams! Her biggest flaw - listening to me to take Missouri for a few rounds, changing her pick of Florida to Missouri for the rounds of 16 and 8. I can only imagine her overall rank if she didn't listen to me!

As a native Hoosier, I am in the rather awkward position of rooting for the Kentucky (gulp) Wildcats.

Looks like you win if OSU beats Kentucky in the finals or Louisville beats Kentucky, otherwise greatwake has a clear path. Then again if Louisville beats Kansas in the final game, there will be a huge mess :confused:
