Happy new year. Apparently less than 10 graded SGC and PSA examples of my N172 Comiskey exist. Show me some other rare 19th century of even common 19th century it's all eye candy to me.:D

Jay:
Those are some nice Buchners, the colors are so bright. Most that I have seen are pretty dull and washed out looking. |
Here's a couple of colorful 19th century items

Bob & Kenny:
Those groups of 19th Century cards are way too nice for one person to own, can I take a few off your hands? |

8 of the 34 are London, 5 of the hands at chest pose and 3 of the hands at shoulder. They are very tough to find, I believe I have all of the ones I've ever seen, don't remember any getting away but I could be wrong. Also the other London player, Pettee is very hard to find. I won one many years ago off ebay and since then I've seen 2-3 of him on London |

The photo quality of the Chickering Duffy is outstanding! |
Anyone know what ever happened to this 27 foot long bat? It would be hard to misplace something that large. I wonder if it still exists or if it became firewood.:(

|
What Phil said. That Delahanty is AMAZING!!!
|
Yeah, I had to clean the drool off my keyboard after seeing that Delahanty Wonk..
|
Once again some amazing cards in this thread!
Thanks guys for the kind words one of my fav cards. Here is a bigger scan.. http://photos.imageevent.com/piojohn...Bigper20Ed.jpg BTW is it just me or is the Ewing & Mascot like the best card ever? Gee I really like that card! John |

Here are my two other vintage supplement displays -- I don't know when they were put together, but I've had them since the 1960s. Greghttp://www.baseballbasement.com |
Wow those are great displays!
|
Two more fantastic pieces, Greg!

|
This is what I hoped to see in this thread some awesome rarities. Peck and Snyder, N284, N184, rare old judges, 1870s cards, I am sitting at my computer with a piece of drool coming out. This thread now made me want a N284 O'Rourke hands on thighs.
I hope the pics keep coming! |

were the OJ's made before the ZOOM feature on cameras?

Incredible cards everyone, and plenty I have never seen before. Some of these are as foreign to me as the shiny new stuff. I have hundreds of Pre-WW2 cards, but only have these five 19th century examples in my collection, and I think they are pretty neat, flaws and all.

Complete set of 1888 GOODWIN CHAMPIONS (N162)
Quote:
Several have asked me ...... why don't I have these cards graded ? My reply everytime simply is ...... why should I, I love flipping thru my album and enjoying these beautiful gems......the way they were meant to be. Furthermore, during the past 26 years (thanks Barry Sloate for the 42 - N162's you sold me in 1985), I have put together another 2.5 sets of these in the process of Up-Grading this set. So, why do I need a Grading Co. doing what I have already done ? TED Z |
Those are some mighty nice Old Judges, Ken. Especially like the Pud Galvin, that's one of the tougher ones to come by.
|
Love the N175 Conner Brian!!
|
Lots of nice cards but this Chickering has to be my favorite. Amazing!
