Very nice Michigan Sportservice pieces, those are very rare. You haven't by chance come across a Hal Newhouser, have you? I believe that although it is catalogued, it really does not exist.

1st Cobb

I thought my first Cobb would be a T206, but this one from the Brockelman & Luckey auction is pretty cool.
Best regards, Joe |

Ok, none of these are Nov. pickups, but I did pick them up over the last two months or so and haven't shown them yet . . .

|
Trae,
I'm no expert on grading, but is your Steinfeldt undergraded? |
Thanks, John, it is a nice looking 3. There are a few spots of paper loss on the back. I think that's what knocked it down, although there were several other cards in the same submission that PSA didn't punish us for... gotta love grading... ha.

Walter Johnson was from a BST trade (thanks Pete),
The Babe just arrived today.... (bit blurry from scanner, very crisp card!) |
from the last Sterling auction...
not sure I'm actively collecting the set, but along with the Mathewson, the Wheat card is one of my all-time favorites...

Hi-
I picked up these vintage snapshots at the Wilmington MA show from the same dealer. I love the smiling Cobb! It is great to see him at bat (even if it is a far away view). I am looking forward to researching the games this week. Amazing pickups from everyone else so far! Alan Elefson aelefson@hotmail.com |
They are great pickups Alan. Great meeting up with the guys, but come on, spring for a NET54 shirt. It makes it easier to see fellow card addicts.
Didn't buy anything, but got leads on some great stuff. My son, Kendall, is now wondering about the next show. Get the kids involved. Must have checked 500 206's for McCormick stamps, none found. Rawn |

Pete
Very nice looking card |
Leon, where do you want the photos? Here, or with autographs and game-used memorabilia?
Since mostly all I collect other than cards is photos, it would be good to get some guidance, rather than wait for another wrist-slap. ;) |

Illustrated London News Woodcut
1 Attachment(s)
Happy to add this beautiful woodcut to my collection! IMO, this one ranks close to the Creighton Memorial in terms of eye appeal. Hope to get it framed soon!
|
Beautiful, George!
That one may top the Creighton piece. Can you please provide all players names pictured along with the date of the piece for me? Thanks a lot |

Steve: Sounds like a busy weekend. Sweet pickups! Love the Holmes to Homes cards and I 'm not even a back guy :)
|
Very cool, thanks for providing all of the details, George.
|
Steve - That's more Holmes to Homes cards than I have seen in my 25 or so years of collecting! Well done! I'm envious!

To specifically answer though, I think photos are more memorabilia than cards so should go in that section. |

To me discussions and resulting dissemination of information is more important than what forum a post is made in. And modifying sub-forums seemed like a way to facilitate better discussion without cluttering up the card section. Just threw an idea out - it didn't stick. Thanks for your response |

Checked this off the HOF T206 list last night via The Bay.

Could not get anything new for my 1920's Speaker collection so picked up his Rookie gum card

That's a beauty, David.
Congrats! |

This baby came off a BIN last night at the bay. Advertised as crease/wrinkle free and unaltered. I think the fron pic was cropped as the left border seems to be uneven but the back pic makes it look straight/parallel. CJ's, Cj's, CJ's....

Already had the Polar Bear tin, but the pack just arrived. It will make a great companion piece. It's the same pack showing on the tin.

Killer companion piece, Tony! Congrats!
Cole, I like that E107 Young! I had the opportunity to hold that one in Chicago at the national this year. Congrats and welcome to the club! As for me, I've always wanted to have one of the Breisch-Williams overprints in my collection and I finally got the opportunity to add one. They're kinda tough to find. This one came on the back of a Kid Gleason card (of Black Sox scandal fame). http://photos.imageevent.com/ltsgall...ze/Gleason.JPGhttp://photos.imageevent.com/ltsgall...0Overprint.JPG I was also pleased to add a beater of Bad Bill Dahlen. I picked him up since I think he has an outside shot of making the HOF one day via the veterans committee. http://photos.imageevent.com/ltsgall...ize/Dahlen.JPG |
