0-for-4 for me, astronomical prices for everything that I was after: 1924 Negro League panorama, 1928 Cuban team postcard w/Dihigo & J. Wilson, 1866 Chadwick cabinet card & 1904 Ohio photo w/Branch Rickey.............
Better luck next year! |
If anyone won the lot of the 5 trimmed KBs and is selling one (any), please let me know. Thx.
|
I thought I had a chance at the postcard lot with the Brush Auto....dang was I wrong.

One win for me on the card side - quite happy about it!

Great pickups! Congratulations. Dan |
I won:
LOT 914: 1961 Bazooka Panel #1-3 Mickey Mantle Progressive Proofs (7) I am very happy with the price for that lot. |
I despise the commonplace fifteen minute rule. Strange how the website reported the auction "could" end at 11pm and the insinuation that they don't want to hamstring the east coasters by running into the next day.
In my opinion, it was a great auction and I hold the company in high regard, when compared to many others. These unnecessary, visual comments were concerning as time dragged on. Then again, I'm a paranoid cynic of all the Houses of our hobby. Steve |
1915 Cracker Jack PSA 8 (4) card lot
I won the lot with the (4) 1915 Cracker Jack PSA 8. Happy Mother's Day! :)

Thanks dan... paid a little more than I wanted to on the Delehanty, but the Ward was a great price so it evens out! |

Anyone win any of the Zeenut lots?

Boxing
I was bidding on the pair of N150 John L. Sullivans, but fell short. If the winner of the lot wants to part with the Full Body portrait (the card on the right), please get in touch with me. I'd love to explore a cash+trade if you are interested. Thanks!

Thanks Chris |
If someone won the T210's from Series 4, 6, or 7, I would be interested in a few cards.
|
I won #564 - M101-4 Indianapolis Brewing Company Honus Wagner PSA 2
|
1948 Leaf Lots
If the winner(s) of the 1948 Leaf lots is on board here at Net54 and is thinking of "breaking up" some of those SP's.... I am interested!
Mike Ryan |
Underbidder
I was underbidder on the Zeenut with coupons lot, and maybe a few of the other Zeenut lots.
GAH!! I won two minor lots. A PSA 9 53 Bowman B&W and the lot of 3 OJ Cabinets with Phenominal Smith. Oh well. On to the next... Tom C |

The 1911 Zeenut lot of 124 cards, of which 116 will be for sale soon as I completed my set and my partner is now within 1 card of completion! :D On another note I was very disappointed on the final hammer price on my consigned E90-1 near set (missing Joe). It sprinted out to 13k by the 2nd day then sat there. One bid yesterday before extended bidding and no bids at all during extended bidding. Anybody whoever has put this set together knows it is very, very difficult with cards like Shean, McLean, Sweeney, Duffy, Karger, etc. and 2 Honuses, Cobb, Matty, Young, etc. A solid graded all SGC set which went for half of the SMR. Bummer. Someone is going to make a killing breaking it up. I knew I should have gone with my instincts and broken it up. Oh well, you live and learn. :( |
I won the V100 near set of 154. I had been working on a V100 HOFer run and this lot had the last 9 cards I needed; as anyone who has ever tried to track down a card form this set knows, they are not easy to come by and I figured I'd just go for the lot instead of waiting years for the other 9 cards to show up; I was the under-bidder on the Ruth last time it surfaced 2 or 3 years ago. The other 145 will be up for sale.
Still trying to decide how to sell them - I'm not excited about 145 separate transactions and the legwork that goes along with that; at the same time, the hammer price clearly suffered as a result of it being sold a group - I know Bruce K paid a lot more to put the group together. |
If the winner of the W572 lot is on this board, I'd be interested in picking up many (like 60-ish) of them.
Cheers, Patrick |
Nice N172 Delahanty! I had my eye on that one too.
JimB |
Want the Leftovers!
I may be interested in your sloppy seconds if you bought a large lot for just a few cards. Contact me via pm or at tom@regalfinancialgroup.com and let me know what you have. This way, you would not have to put out so much of your own money and go through the hassle of selling a bunch of cards yourself.
And congrats to all who are closer to finishing your sets! Tom C |
If the winner of LOT 632: 1933 R319 Goudey SGC EX 60 Collection (95 Different, 29 HOFers) is going to be breaking up the lot, I would be interested in a few.
I also would be interested in the Tin Tops Waddell from LOT 170: 1910-Era Hall of Famer Card Collection (19) Thanks!! - Rob |
won one lot
I was immediatye underbidder on a couple lots - 1921 Ruth exhibit, T206 Cobb.
Did win one modern lot - the duo - 1969 & 1970 Nolan Ryan PSA 9's. I have a soft spot for nice Ryan's - saw him pitch many games at Anaheim Stadium as a kid. Overall, the prices did not seem too high - even little under what I thought. |
Amazing pick up guys! Wow am I tired and sleepy...
I won these and a few Non-sports that you guys aren't into etc. http://photos.imageevent.com/piojohn...huge/cards.jpg Lots of T206's http://photos.imageevent.com/piojohn3/ebay/06s.jpg Obaks, so excited about these. http://photos.imageevent.com/piojohn...huge/Obaks.jpg Some of these lots end up giving me lots of VG-VGEX-NM extras of tougher Obaks, T206's etc. might be time to list some but I'm a hoarder and lazy ugly combo. Hope everyone did well and got what they were after. Cheers, John |
Re: REA Just ended (almost 4AM EST)...get anything?
Underbidder on 3 lots, including one that I'm almost certain I could have had for one more bid. Just couldn't pull the trigger. Oh well...
|
N690 Donahue
I was prepared to bin up on the n172 Delahanty had I not won this Kbat. Very nice Delahanty.
http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...em_18305_1.jpg |
fantastic stuff John.
Really dig the Obak sets and naturally the brown Lenox wins. You need to start your own thread with those wins...:D:eek: |
Dropped out of the V351 World Wide Gum bidding (lot 697) late, but couldn't justify the next bid (or three) since I really was only dreaming of the Ted Williams card.
|
Great picks up all. John I'm speechless!!! Congratulations my friend....
|
Wow John  !!! All those cards with a Magie & Demmitt St.L.....in great condition !!!! Congrats !!!
Sincerely, Clayton |
Nice pickups, all, especially John M. I won the 1910 PC796 Walter Johnson--with its Ex-Mt to NMt appearance, I really wasn't concerned about a microscope pin hole (there's a lot more material loss at the corners on a VG-EX card!). That card, based on the scan, had the best eye appeal of any PC796 I've seen! Plus, it was my first Walter Johnson--second year card, his first big year (25-17, 313 K's, 1.39 ERA, with a team that only won about 64 games, going by memory).
Best to all, Larry |
I picked up lot 608: 1927 Exhibits set. Been really into 1920's cards and Exhibits so it was perfect. Even though I have been collecting vintage for 6 years, the Cobb and Gerhig will be my first cards of them.
|
I won Lot 35(66 Old Judges). I only need a few so if anyone needs any please email me at oldjudge@gmail.com
|
If anyone won any of the Lefty Grove cards, I would be interested. I would be interested in the George C. Miller and the Eclipse Import, in particular. brad_green@cox.net

Thanks Larry. Exhibits are underappreciated and a great value in my opinion. Love a set which has Cobb, Johnson, Alexander and also Gehrig and Ruth.

Was high bidder on the Ty Cobb "Fan for a Fan" when I went to bed at 1:00 am only to be crushed by two G's...Wish I knew.... I would have hit the Duke cabinet Davis one more time.

Tried for some of the Negro League HOFers and postcards, to no avail. But was finally able to acquire an 1869 Redstockings item, without going bankrupt on one of the Peck 'n' Snyders. Kinda diggin this doodad!

I won this...

I only ended up winning one lot. I think I got a great deal on this 1939-40 Guayama Brujos team composite with Satchel Paige! I really wanted the 2 lot of the 1930-31 Harrison Studios Postcards, but couldn't afford both...

I won two .. finally got one of O'Hara STL cards that brings me to completion of the "Set Minus Big 4" (Instead of "Set Minus Big 5" :D)
- O'Hara STL PSA3 Lot #288 Wasn't my favorite of the 4 being sold, but consistent with the set (all grade 3 - 6) - I thought that PSA1 was nice looking - was in last years auction, went for $2600 then as I recall? The 4's were nice too! - Cobb Bat On Lot #342 PSA4.5 Upgrade from the BVG3 Cobb Bat On I have and put up on the BST to sell. Happy with pick-ups and prices, thought they would have gone higher! |
Well....I was invited to the prom, , picked up my date, we got there...we danced...but in the end she left with someone else.. :(
|
Congratulations Ed.
A milestone for your collection and a significant accomplishment. For every collector who has attained that goal, there have been countless others who either have not been able to close the deal, or have quit in frustration and impatience. Great work. |
Wins
Won lot 302. 154 t-206's. Mainly for a couple cards for my set. Underbidder on the lower price Magie PSA 3. I will be selling most of these off in the near future.
|
anybody?
If anyone here won these lots and wants to sell off some singles, I am a buyer for the following:
Lot 582 - E121 - Series of 80 - Cobb, Deal, Douglas, Foster, Nehf, Ruth, Schupp, Snyder Lot 618 - 1931-32 Exhibits - (player in upper left corner) - Comorosky, Klein, Maranville, Roettger, Waner Lot 706 - 1933 Exhbit of Lopez/Wright/Vance/O'Doul, 1925-1931 Postcard-Back Four-on-One Exhibits - Harris/Groh/Dempsey/Kansas, and R315 of Pennock Lot 717 - $ in Shield Postcard of Kling Lot 739 - 1908 Dietsche of Schaefer and Morgan Red Belt "Use Two if Necessary" (come one, you can't use BOTH of them!) Thanks, Jeff |
1912 Zeenuts
If the winner of the 1912 Zeenuts has duplicates of Claude Berry and Walter Boles, I am interested in purchasing or trading for those two 1912 Zeenuts.
Congrats to all ....especially TBob on picking up the 1911 Zeenut lot. Patrick |
I believe I was the underbidder on every single zeenut lot from 1912-1920. Seemed that no matter how high I went on ANY of those, I was always topped by the auto-bidder. I even placed a 10k bid on the 1918s which got me the same result.
I did manage to eek out a win on the EUnc orange borders with a couple partners. I suspect the winner of those Zeenut lots may be the same individual, so if that person reads this thread and wants to share, I'm willing to take on a large portion of those cards if by chance, youre going to have a bunch of dupes. I'd take anything I could get from the 1918 set in particular. Also, if anyone won the e90-3 lot from the board, I'd be interested in several of those cards as well. Thanks guys! 1933 George C Millers, I am interested in the Gehringer
1936 V355 WWGs, I am interested in the Greenberg 1947 Tip Tops, I am interested in Mize and Rizzuto 1925 Exhibits, I am interested in either Terry 1923-24 Exhibits, I am interested in the Simmons I have good stuff to trade also, Matt |
Thought it was ending earlier this year
I was the high bidder on the peck & snyder until 2:20 am, So much for the ending anytime after 11, seems like the usual waiting till 3:54 am, terrible way to be customer friendly. I know this is the way many do it, but the fair way is to close lot by lot.
|
REA Piedmont Plank
I put a bid on this card the first day, and was stunned to see the final price of over $35k w/o the bp.
I was thinking if I won the card - Would I have the borders restored, or just leave it alone? Either way, it would still grade the same - Authentic. Just wondering anyone else's thoughts on this? If you won the card, would you restore the borders? Would it hurt the value if is was restored? Any thoughts? Tony |
I won the T204 Plank and now have an SGC 60 dupe that needs a new home. Also won the Rose PC's, which I'm gladly keeping, and the Max Stein group of 7. A couple of those are going elsewhere, but I'd be willing sell or trade McGraw, Bodie, Tinker and the Cubs outfield. And maybe the Wagner, if I got the right offer.
This was the year I was going to sit it out. My lack of willpower is shameful. Edited to add: the real-time chat last night was very enjoyable. Thanks to Matt for defeating both Al Qaeda and the Japanese to make that accessible again. Bill |
Steve
C'mon Steve, where are your priorities man..?! :D
Congratulations on the new addition!!! |
Steve Congratulations!!! :)
