Tony,
That portrait is super sharp. I love cards that present better than the grade, paper loss or not. Here is my WaJo that I think shows better than a 4. BTW, on a different thread there is a reference to WaJo and then someone corrected it to WoJo. I would think WaJo would be correct (Wa)lter (Jo)hnson, any opinions? http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/b...rtraitPSA4.jpg |

Wow, the auto and the Ramly are neck and neck for the biggest Johnsons in this pack.
I'm not even gonna get out the EPDG port or the Lenox Pitching. Great stuff guys! Bob |
Tyler,
As nice a guy as he was, I am hoping that old Barney would plunk you with a heater if you called him WoJo or WaJo. |
Peter, I think I just fell in <a href="http://planetsmilies.net" title="obscene smiley"><img src="http://planetsmilies.net/obscene-smiley-7187.gif" alt="http://planetsmilies.net/obscene-smiley-7187.gif" title="obscene smiley" style="border-width:0;"/></a> . WOW!!!!!

^^^Sweet cards, all!^^^
Here's a couple. The 2nd one isn't prewar, obviously, but it's fairly tough to find, and is one of 2 "EX-MT" copies graded between PSA and SGC. http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/7240/johnsont206.jpg http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/8454/51johnson.jpg |

became the first President to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on opening day in our Nation's Capital, and Walter Johnson then proceded to shut out the Philadelphia A's 3-0 on one hit!!
Blair - Yes, Johnson cards is one of my main collecting focuses, along with Sam Rice cards and vintage type cards. The following are W516-1, W516-1-2, and W516-2-2 cards. I've long wondered if the W516-1-2 (the one in the middle) is real or a repro - can anyone advise? Also, I'd love to acquire a W516-2-1 card to go along with these - anyone have one to sell or trade? Val |
Val,
Looks legit to me. Mike |
Any one got the Johnson where Robin Williams's picture was used--I think it was a Fleischmann's.:o:o
Incredible cards guys. The T206 portrait side by side with the cracker jack specimen sums it up for me. |
|
Val,
That is quite a collection! JimB |
