ebay memeber thevintagecardexpress2009
Hi I just want to share with all of you my experance with this ebay seller. I noticed he listed and sold some high end vintage cards so I sent him a email telling if i could come by and take a look at some of his cards. One of the cards I was really interested in was the 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #144 PSA 7 he had. So he emailed me back his number and I gave him a call and we met today. When I got there I was shocked and was lost for words when I saw what kind of cards he had. I have been collecting vintage cards for over 25+ years and belive me before i got there i was wondering if these cards were for real or not. So when I got there he had some cards laid out on his coffe table. He had all 4 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth cards is PSA 7 also had the sports king Ruth in a PSA 7. 1951 Bowman Mantle Rookie in a PSA 8 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle in PSA 8 1933 Goudey Lou Gehrig #92 PSA 8. There were so many highend cards he had I cant list them all here. . he also had a huge box of ungraded cards. Commons and minor stars Goudeys 33and 34 T206's 51 Bowmans, 52, bowmans, Topps cards fron 52 threw 56. most of the cards i say were in poor condition to ex and a few looked near mint. I ended up buying the 33 Ruth #144 PSa 7 for $6800.00 and a few Common Goudeys. I wish I brught more money. I was like a kid in a candy store today It was awsome.

Where can I get some? I am not sure what to make of that post. It's on topic. If it's an ad it's not a very good one. I guess "congratulations" on picking up a nice Ruth card!!
|
A glowing opinion of an unknown ebay seller with what seems like an unreal inventory as your first ever post on this forum smells funny. I don't buy it.
-Rhett |
If he had those just laying out on the coffee table I want to see what was locked up in the safe ?
|
Rhett
I have the luxury of having contact info. When someone registers and out of the 15 words they use, several are misspelled, it makes me almost take it at face value. It looks as though he spelled his name wrong too . That being said it doesn't quite pass the smell test...my guess is this will be a quick crash and burn without me having to do anything.....we'll see....
|
Should spend some of his card budget on a dictionary.
|
ok i might not be the best speller i am not a good typer. but my experiance was real and I just wanted to share it with all of you. I have been collection vintage cards for a long time and was just amazed on what i saw
|
If you are walking around with that type of cash in your pocket it doesn't matter how you spell as long as you can count your money. It just seems strange that someone would let a stranger see over 100k in cards sitting on a table in front of them. But if you got the Ruth congrats, and be careful with all that cash !
|
Not quite right
thevintagecardexpress2009 is selling several groups of fake cards on eBay. First, the flips have the wrong font styles. Second, the cards are reprints. Third, the PSA holders have been resealed. These types of cards have been seen previously on craigslist.
|
vintageclassics...
any chance you can provide a scan of your newly acquired ruth?

MW1. you are wrong Sir!!! The cards I saw sure were not fake and the cases are were not tampered with at all. That is the first thing I looked for. I know what the craigs list fakes are all about. His stuff was for real I am still in aww struck on what I saw.
|
ok how do i post a pic? I tried but it says my file is to large to upload . I think I am going to go back and look threw all of his ungraded Goudeys He must of had over a 100 1933 goudey cards some were in rough shap others looked like they were in EX.
|
I am still in aww struck on what I saw
ALL CARDS ARE GURANTED 100% AUTHNTIC AND ORGINAL
The seller writes about as well, or poorly, as our new friend. "Vintageclassics": You are "thevintagecardexpress2009", aren't you. Tell the truth. |
Leon, I hope you will pass all info onto the Fed's if this is indeed a scam. It does seem like a great set up..."Hi, I'm new here. I know where you can buy EVERY card you every wanted....NOOOOO, they're REAL!!! I promise."

........Was thinking the exact same thing. One day they will learn that they can't pull a scam on us as a collective group. |
in a strange twist of fate
In a strange twist of fate this Net54baseball.com board member registration info became known...
"username vintage classiscs name Edwin Arroyo Edwin Aaroyo [edwin20099@yahoo.com]" I don't want to give out a telephone number but it starts with 516......as ya'll can see Mr. "Aaroyo" misspelled his name....something I do all of the time with my own name......I am thinking if you can't get past your name the rest is a very uphill battle......Caveat Emptor..... |
Leon - it was actually his brother registering for him - of course he knows how to spell his own name. Also, the brother was posting under his ID. Also it was the brother who bought the Ruth.
|
I understood Edwin just had a sister, in Canada?

Do any of this guy's co-conspirators or employees want to post about what a great guy he is and that we need to stop this thread because it is an outrage against a swell member of our community? Since there's no money in it for anyone I'm going to guess no.
|
This is funny.......
Leon, that was great how you posted that picture to this thread-I laughed so hard I have a cramp in my side.Really though,maybe-just maybe-vintagecard or vintageexpresstrain or whatever HAS a Wagner in that ungraded box full of candy................................hahahahaha

and
This guy is on the CU boards doing the same thing. How pitiful is this? I guess it's tough to find a job so scamming is all that can be done.....at least for scammers.
|
he was trying real hard in the last couple weeks. looks like he bought 50+ different $1 auctions to rapidly build up his feedback. and previously bought (overpaid) his own sandy koufax psa 8 with another ebay id.

Edit to add a breakthrough I just discovered. It seems that posters who converse with a third grade education always have the best cards. From now on I will follow suit in hope that the luck rubs off on me. Hppy Colecting 2 Al! |

Well, if he doesn't travel well, he, at the very least, needs better writers. Flowery descriptions of the players careers move cards like you wouldn't believe. Also, he should learn to spell like this: L@@K!!!! That one always grabs me. |
If he had better item descriptions the cards would have already sold, but the buyers would have been so taken by his prose they would have sold for 3X the price by buyers in awe of his mastery of the English language.

heating up
Well, in the last day I have spoken with 2 people scammed by this guy, again. One was for 21k and was returned, the other around $375 and is still scammed. I know there is at least 1 detective that is working this case now. It seems there is a guy named Brian "Hogan" (not sure if that is correct, but close) and a guy named Raymund Rodriquez (sp?), pulling this scam together. Law enforcement is getting close......There should be quite a bit more coming out soon, about this situation. regards

Way behind the times, as usual
Just viewing this thread for the first time over lunch today. In it, on page three, was mention of
In a strange twist of fate this Net54baseball.com board member registration info became known... "username vintage classiscs name Edwin Arroyo Edwin Aaroyo [edwin20099@yahoo.com]" Since joining Facebook about a year ago, I have gotten several friend requests from an Eddie Arroyo, who I had no clue who it was. Is he a person who posts on the board? His requests say he is from NYC, but that is about all the info that is made available. Looked up the name in Google, and it listed a boxer. Same guy? |
be careful

Edwin arroyo, raymud rodriguez, brian hogan
I know these guys are still scamming people on Craigslist. Ive been randomly posting in different areas warning people about them. They seem to now have gone small time. Making less money in the hopes of flying under the radar. People are less apt to make a big stink if the stakes aren't too high. The 3 names I know of who are conspirators in this scam are RAYMUD RODRIGUEZ, EDWIN ARROYO and BRIAN HOGAN. BRIAN HOGAN is out of S.Carolina while the other 2 are out of San Diego 3.3 miles from the Mexican boarder. They use Magic Jack phones where its easy to get an area code for a different state other than your own. They only cost about 40 bucks a year so its perfect for these guys. Its also easy to shut them down and start up a new one 5 minutes later. Id like to ask the people in here to do me a favor. Just pick a few different areas on CL and post warning about these guys. Even if your not into trying to be a hero and save the world you will at the very least be making it very hard for these guys to make money and pad their pockets. I know I have already done that. That makes me feel very good.
|
Scammers
Just found more Craigslist postings by these guys. Its funny. They know that law enforcement is investigating them but they still scam. Not even smart enough to get out of their own way. I guess they have no other means to make money. Just remember these names : BRIAN HOGAN, RAYMUD RODRIGUEZ and EDWIN ARROYO. These are known and confirmed scammers. If they keep it up I will start posting their telephone numbers, addresses, date of birth and their relatives names. Trust me fellas. The scam is coming to a halt very soon from what my sources tell me.
|
Flatman
Flatman- Keep up the good work. Eventually there will be enough pressure on a local PD to get these guys. Unfortunately it doesn't rise to the level of Federal involvement but these guys need to be stopped regardless of how it happens. Please let me know what I can do. Also, if you want to post any names, addresses, phone numbers etc....it is fine by me. The one thing trolls and scammers hate is seeing their name in lights, repeatedly. Good luck and keep us informed!!
|
Do you know what part of SC that Hogan operates from? Maybe I can be of some help.
|
Well,I just clicked on the Craigslist link and it has been flagged for removal. This thread should also be linked to the thread "Authenticity of These PSA Cards".
Both threads are about the same scammer/scammers. I hope to soon read about this/these scumbags getting arrested for fraud/theft of some kind. Regards,Clayton |
Brian hogan
BRIAN HOGAN lives in Ladson,SC, 16173 at 123 Saw Palm Drive. His ebay name is " LOWCOUNTRYBASEBALLVINTAGE". Need anymore info feel free to contact me.

scammers
Leon. Thanks buddy. You can count on it. Just talked to another person they screwed for 1200. He was ready to send them another 400 when he saw my ad on CL. I have saved about 4,000 to date from going into their hands. Unfortunately it was after some people were already scammed but saved them from sending more money. The ones I love the most are the ones who were ready to do the deal but saw my post. Thats why I said earlier that if you want to hurt these guys post a warning on Craigslist. If ive saved this many people I could just think how many we all could save. And also keeping funds out of their hands.
|
Flatman
Flatman- I would still like to know more about the sheriff's involvement with the Fedex'ing of the 21k that George eventually stopped, recently. There must be some law enforcement that is knowing what is going on AND is already involved. The gentleman I work with said he would make a call for us but I backed off when George told me about that situation of his. I have rarely seen a guy as fired up at getting someone than ole George was about these guys. The problem I have, is that they keep doing it and keep telling everyone to get them if you can. That can't be a good long term strategy. What comes 'round goes 'round. :p

Edwin is a meth-head
http://www.fresnosheriff.org/wordpress/?p=411
Edwin Arroyo He's based in Cali and uses a magicjack phone connection to make it look like he's in whatever state he wishes. The money is always sent to CA. Raymud Rodriguez is in the San Diego area. He's a whopping 4"9" tall and weighs about 95 lbs. Little man syndrome. |
worstnightmare
Worstnightmare- nice first post. I had a picture in my head of Edwin and that pretty much was what it was. At least he is where he should be right now. Lets hope he stays there for a long while. best regards

Scammers
Hi Leon. Maybe we can set up a phone call in the next few days or during the weekend. I have much more info now and trust me Leon, Time is running out on these guys! As far as I know George got back his money and its over with. So anything you want to do will not affect him. I will be relentless in following these guys. Im retired and have nothing better to do. Especially during these cold winter months. Plus being a retired police officer I have the right contacts. Unfortunately these things take time. Investigations are a little more complicated than the public would think. Things dont happen overnight. Well maybe in the movies they do. But believe me. This case is now active and things will be happening in the very near future. Its too bad that during this time they are still able to rip people off. We will put a seizure order on their property once they are arrested. But I can tell you from working in the Crimes Divison for 17 years that these dirtbags generally dont have anywhere near the cash in assets that they've bilked people for. But this being an internet crime it will fall into federal Jurisdiction. These guys dont like to get involved at this point. They like for us to do the leg work and they take the credit. Doesnt bother me. As long as these guys are stopped and do time I will be happy. Talk to you soon Leon

Scammers
Worstnightmare. Welcome. Your info is pretty much correct. I think Raymud is a few inches taller than that actually. If you were burned by these people or had contact with them please email me. Id like to accumulate all the info I can on these guys and also know of as many victims as possible. Thanks
|
Sounds like a conspiracy theory to me. It's not like the FBI is involved or a federal grand jury is investigating this, right?

no

Scammers
Hi Leon. I wouldn't be so sure about the FBI not taking interest in this. Im not at liberty to state all I know. But you are right as far as the local police. Anyone scammed or almost scanned by these guys should call the San Diego police department. The number is (619) 531- 2000. See if they will let you talk to Detective Barrett. Even before you call the FBI you should file locally. The above number is the number for the precinct they are working out of. They are already aware and actively investigating this matter. EDWIN ARROYO at the moment is making like he lives in Connecticut. Like I mentioned earlier he is using a magic jack phone which enables him to have an area code from anywhere he chooses. But make no mistake. EDWIN ARROYO lives in San Diego. Or at least works out of there. He lives 3 miles from the Mexican boarder so im sure he bangs back and forth between the 2. One of the people investigating these guys called me today and asked if I had an address from Mexico on EDWIN ARROYO. I told him I didnt and he told me he found one of his addresses to be in Mexico. RAYMUD RODRIGUEZ is still actively involved in this scam posing as EDWIN ARROYO'S cousin who's protecting him from all the internet sharks who are trying to pry poor little Edwins card collection which he inherited from his dad who passed away 6 months ago. EDWIN is now acting mentally challenged and needs RAYMUD RODRIGUEZ to look after him. Of course thats a lie. I havent heard anything new from BRIAN HOGAN lately but ive been a little busy watching the other two scumbags. But trust me. I havent forgotten him and neither have the authorities.
|
I know he lives in southern san diego, near the affluent neighborhood of tijuana, mexico. I'm guessing he's living in his mommas 900 SF trailer with his 9 hermanos and hermanas, his grandmother and abusive alcoholic padre. Hey, a guy's gotta feed his family, right? Why not rip off all the rich americans? He's a hero in the Mexican community. But just wait till it all comes back around and bites him in his a$$ :D
|
Losts $1000 too to edwin arroyo and his sp** friends
Just how people have been talken how they make you think they have a real card and ALL FAKE. Just talked from a guy from New York and hopefully between us and others they will get busted. I want to punch him soo bad but too far from san diego

Brian (Kevin) Hogan lives outside Charleston, and Summerville, SC . Do some digging, you'll find him. He's lived in Cali and up north, disabled in CA, moved to SC a couple of years ago. And he may or may not have a white car and mini van in the driveway of his 2 story house. I'm just sayin.... it's possible.
