|
love the Von der Ahe. great stuff everybody!
|
Just got this back from BVG; now I can let my kids play with it and not worry about it getting damaged :)
Those spots are from the BVG baggy; I wish they had done a better job of making it flat. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_pAhpQ3jIX9M/Sk...0/scan0001.jpg |

What is a menko, you may ask? Beats me but here is a reference that might shed some light on these "battle-scarred gaming pieces" (check it out if only for the Fatty Arbuckle menko): http://www.dking-gallery.com/menko/ http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...ize/Menko3.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...ize/Menko1.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...ize/Menko5.jpg (Death on the Basepath) Don't think I posted these yet. Picked up a couple of Buchner Gold Coins as type cards. http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...ze/DMcD317.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...ze/DMcD319.jpg Last but not least is the Boston American postcard of Jake Stahl which Adam B. offered up for auction recently. Scan is at BST Auction thread: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=113178 |

I'm to lazy to scan it today, but I was able to get:
T206 Joss with a SC 350-460 Factory 25 PSA 4. For some reason, this has been an extremely tough card for me to track down. This was only the second one I have found in over a year of looking, and the other was a beater. This puts me at 29 T206 backs (5 Chase, 1 Merkle, 1 Shag, 22 HOFers). I also added this EPDG Collins. Anyone have an Old Mill Collins??? Take care, Bob Take a look at the T206 HOFers and my favorites backs line; http://s588.photobucket.com/albums/s...albumview=grid <a href="http://s588.photobucket.com/albums/ss329/upperhandisforemost/?action=view¤t=T206CollinsEPDGfront.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss329/upperhandisforemost/T206CollinsEPDGfront.jpg" border="0" alt="T206 Collins EPDG front"></a> <a href="http://s588.photobucket.com/albums/ss329/upperhandisforemost/?action=view¤t=T206CollinsEPDGback.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss329/upperhandisforemost/T206CollinsEPDGback.jpg" border="0" alt="T206 Collins EPDG back"></a> |

Crescents
Pete, congrats on picking up both Crescent variations. The "The Perfect Food" variation is a new discovery with only three cards known to exist. Wondering if you have found a fourth, can you post front scans?
Here's a link to the five Crescents I once owned still listed on SGC registry for reference. I also researched and wrote a short introduction on the Vancouver "Hanbaury baseball team" which can be viewed with the cards. http://www.sgccardregistry.com/set.a...36&userset=864 Short print #11 Norm Goodall can be viewed in this photo, front row 2nd from the left. Photo retreved from "City of Vancouver Archives". http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/n...les/A17108.jpg |

My first pickup's in quite some time as I have been fully devoted to obtaining as many deceased HOF Rookie Auto's as possible and they're all post-WWII era. On a little side note: if anyone has any deceased HOF RC Auto's PLEASE pm me, ok, here are my pickups
one for my HOF Rookie collection http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...NewsM101-4.jpg and one HUGE one for my HOF Rookie Auto collection http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s...AutoSGCJSA.jpg -Dan |
