HOF -- Type 1 Photos
 

Seems like every major auction house now has several type 1 photos prominently featured. Let's see what people have for type 1 photos featuring HOF players. Raw, slabbed or mounted...would love to see some images of the HOF greats that we don't get to see on cards...photos used for cards also welcome.

The 1946 Tampico Alijadores features Negro League great and HOFer Raymond Brown

The 1947 NY Cubans has Minnie Minoso, who will hopefully make the Hall in the coming weeks.

Very cool looking Greenberg photo.

Anyone remember the Ron Leflore Story? It was a tv movie about Ron Leflore and how he went from prison to the major leagues. A scene from Tiger stadium with Jim Northrup, Al Kaline, Bill Freehan, and Norm Cash.

Here are a few snapshots of Cobb, Ruth, and a photo of Johnson. The small one with Cobb in street clothes is an early snapshot from the scrapbook of one of his teammates that was taken apart.

Nice Jay, I have the same middle one of the over .300 hitters. Someone else here on the boards has a photo taken at the same time, but by a different photographer. You can tell because all of the players are looking at a different camera (likely the one that took OUR photo). I think it would be neat to own both.

Really enjoying this thread guys. Photos have always been a keen interest of mine, keep them coming. Enclosed a couple of snapshots from the Gehrig family collection auction by Heritage some time back. Thinking these are related to the All Star tour of Japan in 1931. 1`st shot, Lou/Grove/Marranville. The second appears to be Lou taking B P during the tour.

Here is a more recent 5" by 7" contribution taken of Ken Griffey Jr. as a Vermont Mariner. Brings back memories of me watching him live in the minors.

Ahhh...This really led me into collecting. My next-door neighbor wrote this book and Ron would come over frequently. My neighbor also was the biggest show promoter in the state and had a brick-and-mortar store for a few years.

I have six different wire photos (different angles) from the same play when Mantle took out Reese during the 1952 World Series. I plan on putting a custom framed display of these photos with autographed baseballs of both players.

I have owned the attached photo of George Brett for many years and have
had alot of black & white photos authenticated but not sure on color so didn't
send them in. Finally sent in the attached, and it is the only one of its kind I have seen in years of collecting. The SSPC Brett & Cowens and it is a type 1

I have come to the realization that I like photos more than cards.

Just received these two in the mail from Memory Lane.

Great photos Charles! It took me a bit to figure out that if the photo was team issued it is classified as a type III. Here is my circa 1940s photo of Musial in a batting stance. Although my photo is from the previous decade, it is classified as a class III. Of course, I also really like the class I - I've also attached a picture of my Ruth, but I sold it.

Wow, those are some real beauties!
I love pictures of Musial's stance--he that corkscrew swing going, but it was a thing of beauty.

And that is a great closeup of Ruth.
