Mrs. Joe Jackson
Picked up this note, most likely to a fan requesting an autograph, written by Joe`s wife Katie. Interestingly Katie refers to Joe as "Mr. Jackson when informing the fan of Joe`s death. Do see Katie signing as "Joe Jackson" and occasionally "Shoeless Joe" but not to many items as "Mrs Joe Jackson". Keep the pieces coming guys never see enough. Doug that`s a very nice group shot sir, enjoy !

Kind of a redundant message written underneath with an interesting way of spelling Mathewson BUT still a pretty hard to find autograph. Now to figure out what to Matty it with.

Nice pickups Frank. Really love the Spalding as it's in very nice condition.

Finally got around to framing a few items. A couple are older acquisitions, but the last one is brand new.
One of.my favorite recent tv series. Strike Back. 2 main characters. Sullivan Stapleton and Phillip Winchester. Dave Grohl signed 11x14. The photo is from the RR HOF ceremonies where he and Taylor Hawkins introduced the induction of my favorite band, Rush. They then played the opening section of 2112 dressed as Rush from the 70s. Would love to add the other 2. Lastly, signed cast photo from NYPD Blue. This is the third cast group after Rick Schroeder took over for Jimmy Smits. Still looking for a cast photo like this with Smits. Sigs are in gold so don't show up well in photo but are pretty clear in person. I think it was a combination of being silver pen that does not have great contrast with the photo, not being a high demand item, and that it had been sitting listed for a while. Plus there is a personalization that i was able to mat out. There is a Smits cast one on ebay, but it is way overpriced imo. I will be patient. Lol Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk |

Love the Strike Back photo. Have been a big fan from the very beginning. I'd like to get a signed poster from one of the early seasons, but i'd have nowhere to display it...oh well.

Got this TTM today. Bob Aspromonte. One of the last living Brooklyn Dodgers. Original Colt .45s (1st HR). Original Astros (1st HR, and 1st HR in Astrodome). Texas HOF. Nicest baseball player all his career. Less than two week turn-around. Not many of these guys left. Nice surprise during COVID19.
|
Bob and his brother Ken are both super to collectors of TTM autographs. Both send back additional signed photos quite regularly. And both have fantastic signatures!

Posting this in the proper spot. I love the Living Legends set by Ron Lewis. Making it a goal to collect all 20 of them that are signed by the players. Yogi makes the fourth player for me. Already have Mantle, Mays and Snider, I have to get around to posting those too!

I picked this item up a few years ago and keep it rolled up in a box in the closet. I know about a few of the signatures on it, but looked closed the other night when I ran across some information. I will not show the whole item. It is a 3' x 5' canvas Levis banner signed by the members of the U.S. Pan American Team. I want to scan all of the Olympians that are on it, but it will be a massive undertaking so I have put it aside.
For you baseball fans: Attachment 401352 It also has the signatures of Billy Swift, John Marzano and Cory Snyder. Here is the best signature on it: Attachment 401353 The person who signed above/on top if him is a 1960 gold medalist in rowing. It does not get better than this. Not only his number, but also college and sport. One last one. Olympic gold medalist, above average NBA player, smooth jazz star and the first member of the 1984 Olympic basketball team to pass away. The best signature I have seen of his and I got him a few times in person. Attachment 401354 |

Back with two fresh pickups from the most recent Wheatland Auction. Very excited for these two new additions. Maybe I'll also make it a mission to get an Auto from everyone in the 500 Home Run Club

It's not a big name like many of the others on this thread, but I just received this 1961 Fleer Denny Galehouse, I bought it off of eBay from Net54 member KHW.
https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-a-AYHCsmH...1961F_107A.jpg Almost 8 years ago, I started working on a signed 1963 Fleer set and have slowly got to the point where I have signed versions of 63 out of the 66 cards in that set. About 3 years ago, I decided to branch off into 1960 and 1961 Fleer as well. IT was a bit more complicated because, while '63 was contemporary players, '60 and '61 were retired greats. Many of those greats had died long before these sets were issued. By my reckoning, 40 of the players in 1960 Fleer and 95 of the subjects in 1961 were still alive at the time the cards were issued. As it stands today, I have 12 signed cards from 1960 and this Galehouse is my 23rd from 1961. I am mainly a set collector, so this is a side project and, to date, I have mainly been poaching the more affordable cards. The only one I have so far that was involved a major splash of cash was a 1961 Ted Williams. |
Last set of pickups for now. Been doing a little too much damage to the wallet lately! Two more Ron Lewis Prints signed by Harmon Killebrew and Eddie Matthews.

Wrightfan - your pursuit of the golf HOF postcards has been incredibly impressive. I made a very small attempt at this; got up to the mid 20s. But I also collect HOF logo autographed baseballs, which can obviously get pricey, so it never really took off on. Great job on your pursuit.
