These are so fragile, and this is the first VE Lajoie I've ever seen. I'm very happy.
|
Felt pretty lucky to pick up this 1905 Horner of Harry Barton:

Steve, awesome pick up!
|
Nice card, Steve. How did you discover that one? Was it at the Philly show? I think I've only seen the portrait with the Kotton 123 back.
|
Sweet Horner, was a steal.
|
VE Lajoie
That's great Steve!!...any Virginia Extra is awesome especially a Lajoie...Jerry
|
Thanks, everyone. :)
Pete, I do have some nicer ones than this, but condition isn't necessarily the key for me... Rob, I have the KNGO in the same pose/team, also raw. I do not believe the portrait is in the KNGO/VE series. I didn't make it to the Philly show this weekend...I can't remember the last time I actually bought a card there, but I do enjoy going every time and was sorry to miss it! |

This month is starting off awesome - a T216 VE, a T215-2, a 1907 Dietsche Cobb, two T206 Cobbs and an E121 Cobb, and a W600 to boot. Holy rare March.
Here are few recent pickups (some from February that I had not yet posted); I recognize the final one is not a card, but was from a sports AH, it is vintage, and its my first non-sport piece and I am psyched to own it, so i will show it off here! |

A ton of fantastic pick-ups by all. Jay, awesome Cycle 460 Cobb. Ryan, great pick-ups, love the Monroe. I picked up the Ruth from Board Member Kris19, thank you
|
Great cards everyone!
Love that Ruth Chuck. One of his coolest looking issues in my opinion. |

Picked up these two from a fellow board member at the Philly Show. I really like the Josh Clark image. It also appears on the cover of Crazy '08, a neat book by Cait Murphy.
Thank you, Tom Botticelli. |

Great cards everyone, love it! Have added a few fun Cubs, the chase continues!
It would help when the "professional" graders know which cards they are grading (E98 or E93 - same thing)! |

Boxing 1923 Famous Knock-Outs #1 ~ PSA grade 9
1 Attachment(s)
First-ever grade 9 from PSA - card #1 The Rocket Famous Knock Outs Siki vs Carpentier.
|
Really excited for this one and a HUGE thanks to the anonymous board member (unless they want to out themselves) who spotted it, tried to contact me and when he couldn't get a hold of me bought it just to ensure it got into my set. 1 of only 2 graded examples and #47 out of the set.

1966 Punchboard
1 Attachment(s)
I picked this up last year and sent it out to have 2 pieces of clear tape removed. Many consider the 1966 punchboards the rarest of all Topps cards. Next to it is A 2015 Topps Heritage insert.
|
Andy, that is quite a haul. You are on a roll Steve, and great Evers DJ. Great Wags Pete. Nice Ruth Chuck and Ruths Erick. Jay, that Cobb is so so :). Good group Scott. And great pick ups to everyone else- this is one hell of a month

Congrats on the Evers Nadja, DJ.
Here's a Red Murray with a tougher Polar Bear back. Working on a back run of this unheralded player... |
