Another superb piece from Tom at The Art of Restoration. Couldn't be happier with the end result of this one. This is the only known example of this sign.

matty39 10-10-2017 06:02 PM

Matt, The back of the card is just a generic score card.

Rob,

Awesome looking McCovey item!

Brian,

Love the Broadside!

Such great looking items in this thread; even the supporter/cup ads are cool.

I figured being Radio City related Charles M. Howatt would be easy to research...could barely find anything on who he was...

Brooks Banner

While I don’t typically like to revive an older thread I thought I’d share an advertising item I’ve had for many, many years. It’s rough, with mold, water stains, and just plain dirty from likely being displayed outdoors. Since I purchased the item I have always wanted to try and have it worked on to see if it has the potential to look a bit better so I can display the item. So here’s a picture of the item.

Mark70Z 12-12-2017 04:11 PM

Brooks Banner

After seeing some items, specifically in this thread, being restored I decided to make contact with a company that did the restorations, The Art of Restoration. I spoke with Tom Tomc specifically about the item I have and he made suggestions what to do to enhance my advertising piece. I sent the Brooks banner to Tom and I’m so happy I made the choice to get the cloth banner cleaned; just a wonderful job.

If anyone has any items they want cleaned and/or restored I highly recommend Tom for the job.

This just ended on ebay. Beautiful piece, IMO. 24" x 36". The seller has a treasure trove of this 1958 Packard Bell advertising.

If this was won by a Net54'er, would you please shoot me a PM?

yankeesjetsfan 12-21-2017 08:22 AM

That's a nice Giants piece Rob.

Nice item. Likely, not many of those left, hence the price. Seller had some interesting baseball/auto advertising items.

Here's an advertising piece that I recently picked up. Perry Davis' "Pain-Killer". Evidently, Harry Wright was a fan.

Thank everyone for the continued comments on the Cracker Jack sign.

This isn't a full ad piece, but it is one of my favorites. King Kelly was cut out of what must have been a sizable poster (the Kelly is 3" x 5"). Attached is also a scan of a small reproduction of the poster.
