Agree with you. Just a very scarce print defect. I only picked mine up because Lemke put in the Big Book at one time. But glad I have one. I also have a couple a of all green backs from 1967

The all color backs are most likely from the plate not being wetted which makes it not reject ink in areas that aren't intended to print.
There are other possible reasons, but that's by far the most likely. Tempered of course by it being Topps. |

The black can vary quite a bit on some of the 91 Topps but I think this Kittle on the left might actually be missing black ink.

Misaligned black plate variations are common in the 91 Topps but in my experience not to a point that it creates a white top in the T in the Topps logo.

It seems I did not post this here yet. I had bought a factory set of 1993 Upper Deck and a bunch of cards had a sequential printing error on the back. It whatever the error is, it is under the gloss, so it does not have any feel difference to it.
