I thought this would be a good place to alert everyone to the latest episodes of TSOG. In celebration of All Star Week, we are doing a 3-part series on vintage pennants from Baseball's All Star Game.

Some rare versions, terrific artwork, and lots of history to be sure. The first segment was just posted and features All Star Pennants from 1947 - 1958. For anyone who cares to watch, please see the link below...

Thanks so much for your support of the channel!

Great video Mark. I'm already looking forward to the next two.

This is probably the elusive Pixie you speak of.... the only example I've seen of this pennant. Has anyone else seen this one before?

Ps. Sorry for the huge image followed by the sideways image. Some recurring technical glitch beyond my level of expertise has occurred, so you can see why I've stopped posting pics.

Nope never seen before. Fantastic!!!

Maybe Bart could help you out. He’s the brains behind TSOG, isn’t he? :p

Great pennant; great new episode of TSOG.

Yes, Bart could probably fix it in about 5 seconds (in his sleep). But he knows about as much about pennants as I know about his editing software (which intimidates the hell out of me, just to glance at it). So it's truly a "symbiotic" relationship that seems to work great for these videos! :D

Here’s something that’ll make you cry. Saw this in an online auction last night. Almost pulled the trigger but didn’t. When I checked my reference book. I see that someone trimmed the National League Champs 1956 off the bottom. So sad!

This could have been something the merchant did with these phantoms sitting idly. Might as well sell them in ‘57.

One thing I’ve noticed about phantom pennants and others that are similar is that they seem to often have bleeding on the spine. As if they were boxed away in a pile and were later hit by the same flood or water damage. The ‘65 SF Giants Champs pennant comes to mind, also the Trench Seattle Pilots which may have had piles left over after the move. I once had a ‘52 Dodgers World Champs that had the same exact bleeding as another I had seen …

That's a possibility I guess. Still just a shame.
