A couple of new arrivals today.

I don't normally go for mini pennants but Mantle Holiday Inn is an exception.

I thought the Buffalo pennant was a good one to learn about the feel and texture of early pennants. Though if one of you were to tell me it was a Buffalo Federal League pennant, I wouldn't be upset (...I know it's not).

Nice ones … the Mantle is in great shape …

I feel like most vintage all star pennants are really cool. But, for some reason, the one from Candlestick (1961) just seems ho hum. Is it just me? Are there others from this era that are as boring?

Nice pennant. I'm a big fan of the ASG and World Series pennants.

The simplicity of the blue against the white background (like the 76 ASG Pennants - this one isn't mine) is pleasing.

Marc I think that’s a reflection of the manufacturer. The Trench ASG pennants are at the head of the class, especially those that combine the roster scroll with the stadium graphic which I think ran from 1958 to 1963. They have these for most, but not all, games in that era, with the exceptions occurring when it seems that the ballpark or host team uses other local companies. Domer would have a better idea of the process. That 1961 pennant was - I believe - made by what I call the NYC mystery company, same one that made the 1958 Dodgers/Giants opening day pennant and the ones in the often posted banquet picture. Perhaps the Giants continued a relationship after the move. Below is a 1960 from Yankee stadium - same company - and a 1961 Keezer, which also makes sense since it was at Fenway. (I think Trench also did a Fenway but a plainer version.) Mystery company did the 1964 game at Shea and that’s actually pretty cool looking, I don’t have it, maybe someone else can post theirs (Mark?).

Ad Flag also did a bunch, personally not a fan but I know other collectors like them.

WGN has nice ones for the years when the game was local: 1947 (Wrigley), 1950 (Comiskey), and 1951 (Detroit).

Here’s a great pic of the ‘64 from a Lelands auction, looks like same company as your ‘61 and my ‘60.

Also I am reminded that Trench did 1954 stadium versions (Cleveland) with a scroll of just the starters. Those are really sharp.

I still remember that auction vividly. Mastro called it "Mini find of Maxi Felt" or something to that effect. Someone had huge ceiling bids on all of them.... instant outbid notices happened, regardless of which pennant you bid on.

Although meaningless (given the limitless ceiling bids) I was the high underbidder on a few, including the Reds/Tinker pennant, which is still to this day the only oversized Reds Pennant I've ever seen. I wonder what these would sell for today?

Greg- I like those all of those star pennants, even the Keezer, more than the SF. Wish there was a Trench version with Candlestick. Just feel that SF got left out on the all star game pennant.

Jim- thanks for posting the auction pics. 1999 was before my pennant collecting days. I had not seen those.

Mark- sounds like you think that the same person bought all of them. If so, I wonder what that person's entire collection looks like? Any idea who it is/was?

Do you think that they would sell for as much today? More? About the same? 12k and 11k seem pretty strong.

I figured Mark got them all. :p
