I feel like most vintage all star pennants are really cool. But, for some reason, the one from Candlestick (1961) just seems ho hum. Is it just me? Are there others from this era that are as boring?

Nice pennant. I'm a big fan of the ASG and World Series pennants.
The simplicity of the blue against the white background (like the 76 ASG Pennants - this one isn't mine) is pleasing. |
^^^ needs bleach. :p

Ad Flag also did a bunch, personally not a fan but I know other collectors like them. WGN has nice ones for the years when the game was local: 1947 (Wrigley), 1950 (Comiskey), and 1951 (Detroit). |

Here’s a great pic of the ‘64 from a Lelands auction, looks like same company as your ‘61 and my ‘60.
Also I am reminded that Trench did 1954 stadium versions (Cleveland) with a scroll of just the starters. Those are really sharp. |

Although meaningless (given the limitless ceiling bids) I was the high underbidder on a few, including the Reds/Tinker pennant, which is still to this day the only oversized Reds Pennant I've ever seen. I wonder what these would sell for today? |
Greg- I like those all of those star pennants, even the Keezer, more than the SF. Wish there was a Trench version with Candlestick. Just feel that SF got left out on the all star game pennant.
Jim- thanks for posting the auction pics. 1999 was before my pennant collecting days. I had not seen those. Mark- sounds like you think that the same person bought all of them. If so, I wonder what that person's entire collection looks like? Any idea who it is/was? Do you think that they would sell for as much today? More? About the same? 12k and 11k seem pretty strong. |
I figured Mark got them all. :p
