In your opinion why don't they restart their registry? That would push more people to crossover their Psa slabs and register. Would be my only complaint.

I think they will eventually. My guess is that it's probably just the cost of setting it up. They might be looking into newer/better options for data storage. They probably lacked the necessary skilled workers to build it "properly" and need to hire them.

moving their existing registry is simply a matter of adding a link to their new website....

They have been promising a "New Improved" registry for years.

Adding the existing registry link is better than nothing ATM

I have seen a lot of recently graded material by SGC and from detailed scans and plenty in hand they seem to be crushing vintage over the last 6 months. I do not need or want fast and inexpensive grading if the results of such are cards in 5s/6s that should be lock 7s.

Several have noticed this, along with me. Also, what's with so many 'A' grades? I bought 2 raw '55 Bowman cards last year from the original owner, an Aaron and a Mantle. Both cards were crisp with minimal wear. The Aaron has a bad miscut on the back, so I was unsure how that would grade and they gave it a '5'. The front looks more like a '6-7'. The Mantle had a slight bend (not a crease) along the top border and I was expecting a '5'. It came back 'A' for some reason, so I cracked it out and now it's in a PSA 5 holder.

I've had a similar experience recently.

Sounds like you've solved the puzzle then. This is great news! Perhaps you could email them with the link?

Sent a few cards in for the 5-day turnaround service. Cards were received on 3/8, graded on 3/9.

Are you happy with the grades? I'm hearing a lot of folks are not happy at the strictness of the grades coming out of SGC these days.

Yes....always

I've been with SGC from Day 1. I'm not buying the recent gripes. They have always been tough and accurate, unlike most other grading companies.

Very happy and always satisfied with SGC and their grading.

Peace, Mike

PS For those who have been around long enough, SGC cards are typically always nicer looking than comps in other grading card holders. Bar none! Been buying the supposed SGC "dip" for years. Try to find SGC T206s now at reasonable prices! :)

I agree that SGC has been the most consistent but not necessarily the toughest. I think for the most part they have always been more lenient on miscuts and writing.

And I disagree that they always have nicer looking comps compared to other grading company's.

I just got this Waddell back from PSA, I thought it would get a 4 possibly a 3.5. I just checked the last 3 recorded sales of an SGC 4 on card target and I think it's just as nice as one of the SGC 4's and nicer than the other two.

The centering on the PSA card is perfect! Wow! I think with all the recent and past scandals at PSA they are trying to undergrade now and yes, of course not all SGC look better but acrross the board, I feel they do. Your card is an outlier and a bit undergraded in that PSA holder. Beautiful Rube however! Wow! Thanks for sharing!

Mike

SGC = blazing fast

Sent in a Koufax Rookie and Johnny Bench 2nd year ('69 All Star).

SGC received them on 3/25

I've already gotten the grades and they've been mailed.

That's a turnaround of 2.5 weeks/13 business days from receiving to being graded/mailed. Insane.

Also, both graded higher than I expected especially the Bench, which came back an 8!!!!!!

I recently paid up for a Waddell 2.5 paying more than other SGC and PSA 3s. Color and centering on that one... just stunning. That is clearly #1 in the group you posted.
