I think I may have an order form as well for the signed balls/display. it might have a year. i'll see if I can locate it and scan it.
the box I bid on was probably a year ago. I had seen the individual small boxes all over the place, but not the larger display box that held the individual boxes. Very cool indeed, especially since i used wiffle balls as a kid. I still have the first card I got from a wiffle ball box (Frank Tanana). |

1971 Converse booklet in Spanish, signed by Lou Brock and Orlando Cepeda.
The Spanish booklet is extremely rare, I see the English version quite frequently, but never the Spanish version. |

Updating this thread with some items from the last 3 months.
Added the orange border Cool Papa Bell card and the Chicago Tribune archive wire photo from which the card was made. The orange border card appears to have a good signature as well. An interesting, if perverse comment is made by Bell as to why the Cubs traded Lou Brock in 1964 in the commentary on the back of the card. |

I got a couple more items scanned, and have nothing more to add for a while.
Here is a 1979 Topps 9 card panel, and a signed Hostess panel, also signed (maybe???) by Mickey Rivers and Graig Nettles, complete with Cert so they must all be good - right????? In addition there is a Paul Reuschal front/Lou Brock back 79 Topps and a 78 Kelloggs proof with blank back slabbed by Beckett. |
I'm going to meet Lou this weekend at a local card show. Looking forward to it.
|
Brock
My favorite recent pickup is the '78 BB Kellogg's; very cool. Of course you can't go wrong w/a panel w/Brock in the middle....

I did get to meet Al Hrabosky , The Mad Hungarian once when I was a kid at a mall signing in Peoria, Illinois. He was nice as could be, I was expecting a grouchy, mean guy who snarled at people. |
admired for a while, but just officially stating that i absolutely love this thread!!!

...You know, I think I'll finish my little story over on the autograph section. There's probably an autograph collector or two that wonder what the Hell these are. But, anyway, here's your Brock. |

Reposted here is David W's display for the autographed baseballs in previous post. Believe it or not, they are personally autographed!!! All on the sweet spot.

hey david,
thought you might want this. free of charge naturally. bought a 77 cloth stickers back proof sheet/blank front which was pretty much toast to begin with. it had stains, holes, rips, tears but also a couple of nolan ryan/pete rose proofs on it which was my reasoning behind the purchase. anyways, it has 2 brocks (the better one shown) and thought you might want it. i cut it up as best as i could ensuring each salvageable card was cut over sized so the new owners could slice it to their taste. anyways, if ya'd like it, just pm me a usps label or something and they both are yours. if not, no worries there either. http://caimages.collectors.com/psaim...of%20front.jpg http://caimages.collectors.com/psaim...ck%20proof.jpg |

Here are a few updates to the Lou Brock gallery.
The 1967 Topps Punchout is a toughie, finally found one on Ebay. The 1974 Topps stamp booklets are tough to find as well, I finally found one as well. The 76 Topps is a pretty cool miscut, the 72 and 75 not so much. Thanks to begsu1013 on the hand cut 77 Topps Cloth blank front proofs. |
glad ya got them, dave!
and enjoy. |

In the last 6 months or so, I've added a handful of items.
Here is a 1976 9 card Topps panel. As others have also noted, this pose of Brock taking his lead is one of the classic Topps action shots. |

1975 Twinkie double panel.

Man, talk about some consistency from Lou from 1970-74. Too bad the Cardinals traded Carlton and Jerry Reuss or they might have won some more pennants in those years...

Man David, those are two very nice pickups. Thanks for posting the pics.

I thought you may have foiled me again on something. A kellogg's panel cut-out (not even a full box or full box panel) with both Garvey and Brock sold for much more than I would have expected ($100+), but I have not seen it post yet. Did you see and/or win it by chance?

No, missed that one, no mention of Lou Brock in it, so it didn't show up, but I would have paid for that, only the 2nd one I've ever seen. |
Brock was in the title and the description. However, there are items that I seem to miss somehow with Garvey in the title and I do daily searches. No way to explain it except some items don't show up on searches.

I am not sure on the date of this issue, I would guess early 70's.
It's got Koufax, last year 1966, and Brock as a Cub, last year 1964, Frank Robinson as a Red, last year 1965 and a picture of Rod Carew that looks to be from the mid 70's. The Ebay description said the Astro was Nolan Ryan, I think it's probably not, and may be Larry Dierker. Anyway, they are perforated and approx. size is 1 inch x 3/4 inch. |
That is a fantasy piece made by Gypsy Oak with a copyright of 2017 on the back, MMXVII. They make other fantasy pieces that are on eBay, I was going to pull the trigger on a cool one a few months ago until I figured out exactly what it was.

A couple of recent updates
The extremely short printed 65 Topps Stolen Base leader card:D I already had the Apache Mall Carousel, but it came with the Ridgedale Mall Carousel card. |
Listening to the Mets game last night, announcers were showing aerial photos of the old Polo Grounds and the massive distance to center field. They said only 4 guys ever hit one out to dead center and Brock was one of them. Surprised me but maybe it shouldn't have.
|
Just thought of this seeing this thread and not sure if all the Lou fans knew this. He's had a rough couple of years but still maintains his class and even sense of humor - note the comment on outrunning Molina.

1973 Kelloggs still in the wrapper 1968 Bazooka end panel, I've had the entire panel for a long time, the end panel cut off is hard to find. Thanks Cardinalcollector aka Randy. 1977 scrap with a Lou Brock ghost. It's the 2nd one that I have, almost identical to this one. |
Hey Dave, I didn't realize that was you that won the Bazooka Brock. If you have a Brock want-list, you should send it to me. Regards, Randy

1973 Candy lid proof |
Really like the candy lid proof. I think most of the lid proofs that I have seen were finished backs. Cool that this one doesn't have all of the colors.

I need a full 68 bazooka Brock panel if any Brock collector can help. Thanks Scott

That was me...I am not sure what I am going to do with it.. I need the panel to complete a 68 bazooka panel set. I may cut it up and grade the Rose. I am so against cutting it up but I need a Brock panel.
