That’s a great picture! The pennants are the icing on the cake.

Wild picture! Makes sense that it is Chicago, all but four of those pennants hanging are from the awesome WGN series. The rest (except Indians?) are Ad Flag. Even they didn’t have the Cardinals … :(

I love old photos like that. Thanks for sharing it.

I have an interesting challenge for the collective wisdom on this thread.

So here's the story, I bought a couple of pennants recently.
  • 69 Mets Champions Photo pennant
  • 1962 Yankees Champions Photo Pennant

So far so good. As I live in the UK, I use a shipping service in Florida. I get deliveries sent there and they store them for up to a month and then combine them in a single shipment to the UK.

The process works like this: package arrives at the shipping service, they open it up, take photos, identify the relevant customs category and let me know what's arrived.

Generally this works really well....occasionally it doesn't. It seems that when the 2 pennants arrived at the shipping service, somebody used a knife to open the box and cut through the pennants too. They compensated me for the damage, so that's OK. But now I'm left with 2 really nice pennants except they have "knife wounds".

Any thoughts on whether they can be repaired? and How?

I'm on the razors edge waiting for some sharp insight . :D

I didn’t think there’s much you can do. :(

Had they been older, “felting” might be in order (I still want to try my hand at that).

It is a shame both are really nice pennants

Nice pennants Gary. Especially like the Mets. They will display just fine as is, if I were you I wouldn’t touch them.

Thanks. I've left them as is.

I was thinking there might be a way to use fabric tape to repair it from the back. But they do display well as they are.

There's no harm in using blue "painter's tape" from behind. It would close up those gaps, would not show through at all, and peels right off without sticking to the felt or doing harm to the pennant itself.

Anyone surprised by this one? A pretty strong price, to say the least...

Price is pretty crazy….especially with the usual “blue issues”….but the dude on the buffalo is way cool.
