Ron Francis's card is criminally underrated. Top 100 player of all time and they can still be had fairly cheap. Ronald Michael Francis Jr. (born March 1, 1963) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He is the general manager of the Seattle Kraken that inaugurated its first season in 2021. Drafted fourth overall in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, Francis played 23 seasons in the NHL for the Hartford Whalers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Carolina Hurricanes, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Upon retiring from professional ice hockey in 2004, Francis stood second all-time in career assists (1,249), behind only Wayne Gretzky; fifth in career points (1,798); third in games played (1,731); and 27th in career goals (549). In 2017, Francis was named one of the hundred greatest NHL players in history. |

Larry, really nice group of cards. If you have any duplicates on the 75-76 Topps set I only have a small handful left to get. I'm down to the following to complete it: 75 (Schock), 140 (Dionne), 143 (Nanne), 280 (Pronovost), and 325 (Flyers Leaders). Thanks.

Ok, I have not been collecting hockey cards for a long time.
But a good friend pulled this card on Sunday and offered to me and I thought why not.What sold me on the card was that it says it is an actual game used shield. I did all the modern day hockey sets from 1951 up to about 1990. But once the chase is over for that last card. My enjoyment for that set is done.So I rarely keep anything.Just move on to build another set. The only thing I am 100% loyal to is my Scottie Upshall collection.I am forever expanding it.There are a few cards of his that have allotted me for years.But when they ever become available I will be ready. When you talk about 72 and 78 Kellogg's do you mean the baseball part sets that I have? Thanks. |

1954 Parkhurst #65 Johnny Bowers RC. If you can overlook the tape on the front (which I can) it's a beautiful card, and it completes my set with all the Lucky Premium backs and also the bio backs. This card was a "low grade" Greg Morris purchase $61

Been wanting a ‘52 Gordie for a while as my earliest Howe card. Wanted to keep it low grade and not too spendy and finally found this guy without any creasing or wrinkles like I was seeing in just about everything else in my desired price range. Was really happy with the surface and image on this one.

He's a big, heavy pounce hunter; should have named him "Thud" because when he hits the floor it is with a thud. He's so strong that when he head-butts me he can knock me off balance if I am not paying attention. It gets pretty annoying when I am asleep in my recliner. But I digress... That is a really nice Parkie Howe. I always admire a nice #9. I may have to look for one of those. |

Phil made it back for his last game the other night but only received 7 minutes of ice time and got no points. Ty made it back too but a similar story follows him. I chose those guys based on my heart and not my head and I'm paying the price for that. Thankfully most cards were on the cheap (biggest reason for getting in early) but all toll, it is still a chunk of change as I loaded up pretty good on both of them. Both are young yet but, unfortunately, unless things change drastically, I think they will be sent down then possibly be out/put on waivers as both have been given significant time/chances now to prove themselves, imo. Like you and your sharp looking cards above, sometimes I just can't help myself either. :) |
I’ll call this an Olympics card for thread purposes. Newest addition to my Sport Kings collection, now at 7 cards total.

Been focused on collecting hockey with my daughter for the last two years and now my son is getting into it as well...
We have a local independent FPHL team here called the Danbury Hat tricks. Really good entertainment, with that old school hockey flare. Both of my kids have an affinity for the Teams enforcer Daniel "Diamond Hands" Amesbury, who has really built a cult following her in ct, and captured some serious attention for his battles on and off the ice... Real happy to add a couple of Danimal's 2021-22 game used jerseys to the collection. My kids wear them to every game he attends! |

My Favorite pickup of 2023 is this 1902 Stanley cup "challange cup program" I had never seen a program from the challange era. And I have been collecting for a bit. I have a 1926 and earliest I had seen previously was a 1920. Now I have gone down this same road before. Collecting items so scarce that no one collects them. Definitely not a money maker but cannot help it it is just how I roll. If you never read up on early Stanley cup Challanges read up on 1902. Manitoba vs Toronto with Manitoba winning 2 games to nil. Manitoba would lose the cup in March of 1902 to Montreal.
