Great piece.

Thanks This was a labor of love. It was cut in 12 pices when I got it. It was on the bottom of a box of Wheaties backs from 36 to 41. I had it restored then framed up with museum glass and frame itself is white ash. I have had it for over 40 years and thought I would find another but never did so finally fixed it up about 5 years ago. Glad I did..Great thread.

I guess you already know my feelings on the LS bat ad poster, but just to reinforce the idea; it’s a FANTASTIC piece. |
Thanks Matt! Growing up my dad frequently received gasoline and petroliana auction flyers plastered with all these colorful advertising items. I was intrigued by that stuff but 1990s baseball cards were my thing at the time lol. It wasnt until I was at a gasoline show with my dad, again I was still a youngster probably 11, that I stumbled upon a reproduction Ted William's root beer metal sign. I then discovered that I could collect baseball AND advertising all wrapped up in one. My dad passed away 4 years ago and these signs I've posted were purchased since he's been gone. I regret not getting involved in gas and oil with my dad. The Nourse sign reminds me of my dad alot because he had an identical sign hanging in his shop growing up that he ended up selling. The man who sold it to him had kids who used it for sledding in the snow lol. One side was nice, the other side not so much lol. At least the kids used the same side surface side down each time:rolleyes:

Thank you. When I finally got it restored and saw how it looked I instantly regretted not doing it sooner.

Another Union Oil window display for Dodger's 100th anniversary Pin give-away. I also had the opportunity to have several Dodger's sign next to pins most closely associated with their tenure. Sadly, there's a fading Sandy Koufax between the two lower left pins. Should have brought a new sharpie. The reverse has a Wes Parker signature. Not sure why I had him sign it there.

Love the two Reds pieces Chris, and as always, they look great against the exposed brick!

I’ve long been jealous of the quality vintage on here.
Today I picked up this awesome Schrafft’s cutout on FB Marketplace. Unfortunately it’s been glued and matted so it no longer has its original stand etc. But as a display piece it’s in remarkably good condition and highly aesthetic. Someone mentioned on here before it’s from the early 30s and there could be up to 10 styles but this is only “right fielder” I could find. Anybody got any more info on these? Schrafft’s is a local legend in Boston and New York so it fits well in my Red Sox collection. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...010a329fd1.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...025441a93f.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...65e4ad05c6.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Here's a couple of wooden Croft's Cocoa signs made by the American Joxyl Company of New York in the early 1910's.
My understanding from researching the company is that one of the primary uses for these would be for display on trolley cars and trains of the day. |

Baltimore (Orioles) Black Label Carling Brewery Co Sponsor World Series Sign NBC TV
1 Attachment(s)
Hi. On the Brooks Robinson/Orioles site on Net54, i posted a picture and question about the below sign. I am not exactly sure what year this comes from. It seems it is either from 1966 or 1970 based on the Orioles being the visiting club in Game 1 of the World Series (thus, batting first / top of inning). I am leaning towards 1966.
The sign has 7 pages with a self adhesive tape on back. First two pages has Baltimore in the top of the inning. Next three has Baltimore in the bottom half of inning and final two games has the Orioles in top of the inning. Bottom right corner it says XB-111TH Carling Brewing Company, Baltimore, MD Litho in USA. See below and thanks for any feedback. |

Outstanding items. I really like this thread. No wonder I can't find any advertising. Members here have it all :). Fairly new to this site. Used to be on Game Used with same name. Hope to post more in the future.

Adam I can remember my local Sam Goody's plastered with Darkness posters. Being from NJ I had a copy of Born to run that was on regular rotation. But to be honest Wild Innocent EStreet Shuffle album was not my cup of tea ( I had listed to but didn't own a copy of Greetings) I bought Darkness and then convinced by someone who is still a friend all these years later I dropped $60 on a 10th row seat at MSG August 1978. Needless to say I was converted.

I can't believe I've never seen this thread before! It is absolutely freaking amazing. I moved locations all morning and was tired. Sat down, and looked at every single post in this thread. Wow. Fantastic pieces. The Frank McCormick Chesterfield and Ival Goodman LS 4foot sign were my favorites. On another note, I will get my first man cave since I've been married. My wife gave me a room in the house and said she never wanted to see baseball crap in the bedroom again! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...531cb34d6e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e07a0288e6.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2ee5a93dd6.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6349b79b5e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4235d44b2f.jpg Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk |

Thank you for the support. I guess the picture doesn't do it justice, because that carpet has to be 1970s burnt orange; maybe Campbell's tomato soup color. Wish I was an Orioles fan! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...627066bf06.jpg
