Don't think there are a lot of foolish collectors but an abundance of foolish investors. Because a certain price is paid for a certain card doesn't mean that that price will be sustained in the future. eBay is littered with overpriced cards that sellers seek because they live and die by VCP. Personally, I pay no attention to VCP and purchase cards that I feel is the right price for me.

I agree, it's not always possible to sell direct, but if I recall correctly the point of my post was that he shouldn't be faulted for giving direct a shot first.

right but you have gone on record that people really offer more at AH then they do direct thats just how it is if you plan on selling your card direct....so its a waste of time to try direct ..

in any event, if the guy was willing to take 20k, i assuming his reserve is around there at heritage..

It appears that it didn't reach the reserve ($15,000).

In retrospect it seems predictable. Offering a card for sale for a year without having it sell has to decrease it's eventual sale price.

And for the record, I take no joy in this outcome. I have my own Cobb/ Lenox, so I really wanted this one to sell high.

i dont think everyone that bids on heritage is on net54 though..but im sure there are a lot that on both

still available

It is still available for $17,295 I believe, which is $15,000 plus the buyers premium if anyone is still interested through Heritage. It did not sell in the auction itself.

woudl make sense if you wanted the card for 15,500 etc to offer it directly to that guy he would net more

true. I am not interested in the card myself, but this is just what Heritage shows on their final auction results

What is your obsession with this thread? You have posted 45 times accounting for just shy of 11% of the posts. You have bumped this thread 5 times - defined by a post that was made more than 24 hours after the prior post.

Move on.

The Nasty Nati 02-26-2016 09:14 AM

Agreed. This post needs to be taken down or moved to a different section. It's not fair to the people trying to sell their t206s.

Almost 25% of those posts were the last 2 pages out of 42 pages on my settings (so about 5% of the prior 40 pages) and there was a significant event that occurred...auction ended...and

whats your obsession in counting posts...that was going to be my last post but like the republican debate, if my name is invoked or is inferred I may likely respond

Agree wholeheartedly. Let's move on. This is ridiculous. I would be really upset if I was trying to sell something.

why do you reply to my post TWO days later ..let the thread die if thats what you want to do....perhaps its your plan to pretend to want the thread die but then to post TWO days later complaining why wont the thread die...i posted this just an hour or so after your post (and was already bumped to the top when i replied) so it hasnt been dormant for TWO days...let the thread die and stop posting.....iowa doc also posted 2 of the last 4 posts as well so i would think iowadoc should refrain from posting if wants the thread to die as well...thanks

put your name on the post asoriano...why do you continue to bump the thread? Not sure why you listing names unless they do exactly whatever you do ( i edited the prior post to not bump this thread)

pokerplyr80 02-28-2016 11:47 PM

I believe Leon has allowed this thread to continue in this section for the entertainment value. It certainly is one of a kind, and it's impact on others trying to sell in this section is minimal at best. Less of an issue than guys posting 2-4 separate listings for each card they're trying to sell, then bumping those threads every couple of days.

I say if it bothers anyone that much, stop opening it.

rocarroll 03-06-2016 09:38 AM

Whoopsie

1952boyntoncollector 03-06-2016 09:52 AM

Can buy the card now for 17,000 or so Make an offer/buy it now Heritage deal that people love so much.....(i didnt hurt anyone on b/s/t with this post as Rocarrol just already bumpted it with a reply a few mins ago apparently) Plus will now be interesting to see if anyone actually buys the card, I guess when you lose money on a reserve auction when noone buys it they let you keep it on the site with a buy it now feature perhaps

Bigb13 04-04-2016 06:53 PM

Eric, what a great idea for a thread: name your least favorite card. I'll bet that most of us have a particular card that we're sick of.

You've tried here for over a year and poisoned its value in the process. Put it on ebay.

Robert, nothing personal. I was simply stating how long this thread has been going on. Nothing against your card, but I think this thread should have either been ended or moved. Just my take, that's all....

general question. Have you had any serious offers or are the majority ball breakers jealous that they do not have the card. I guess any attention is good attention. It is like an ugly woman with a great body.........

Bigb13 05-04-2016 11:04 AM

I have had a couple of offers but mostly jealous BB

Sean 05-04-2016 11:29 AM

That PSA 3 Cobb/ Lenox in Memory Lane will be sold in three days. Maybe that will help set the market for this card.

Why did you bump this thread? Unless you pulled the card from auction, it isn't available for sale here on the BST. Over a year of attention whoring with this thread hasn't been enough for you?

iowadoc77 05-04-2016 11:46 AM

Thanks

Thanks Luke
My sentiments exactly

Bigb13 05-04-2016 12:39 PM

Why is it ok to put items on BST and EBay the same time or like some here do put 4 or 5 items on BST at the same time those things are ok I guess but me bumping my one item is such a big deal? I will not waste my time with you.

Luke 05-04-2016 01:03 PM

You've been wasting everyone else's time for over a year, and you haven't seemed to mind that one bit. Sure would be a shame if you wasted any of your own time though.

Bigb13 05-04-2016 01:05 PM

How do I waste your time you don't have to read it.

Robert, if it is at auction, then it belongs in the auction thread, not BST. It is in the current Heritage auction, so NO ONE can buy it from within this thread until the auction closes, correct??

This has gone on long enough. It's no longer available to sell here, time to move on.

Bigb13 05-05-2016 07:16 AM

You don't have to look at the thread. And as far as it being available it is as available as the ones that these guys put on here and on eBay at the same time.

iowadoc77 05-05-2016 08:02 AM

At least we will find out how high the reserve is at 7 central tonight...
My guess is that it goes out of reach for most right about that time.

Publicity stunt or not. I almost feel as though people would not bid on this out of spite at this point.

Just stop. I don't have to look at it? It's on top of the b/s/t every two damn seconds. So, actually everyone including myself is being forced to look at this.

If I had all the money in the world I'd pay people to not bid on this.

Robert,

I want to thank you for showing your Red Cobb Lenox. It really has been my first and only opportunity to view it in detail, and for that; to me, your card is priceless.

I sure wish I had the dough to buy it but I guess I must keep working a bunch of ot and just some day; I may have it or one like it.

Good Luck!

Bigb13 05-06-2016 08:23 PM

Well Charlie if it doesn't go in this auction I think I will be putting it away because of all the ball breaking on this board. So maybe one day I will put it back up for sale and who knows if you are around and still want it you may just get it.

Sean 05-08-2016 12:58 PM

The PSA 3 Cobb/ Lenox in Memory Lane last night sold for $18,500. Last year a similar card sold for $27k.

It appears that with a $15k reserve, this card won't be sold anytime soon. :(

Bigb13 05-08-2016 01:25 PM

That was the same card as last year someone took a bath on that

Bigb13 05-12-2016 01:09 PM

Ok 8 more hours and it will be available here.

Luke 05-12-2016 01:25 PM

Leon, can you please pull this thread or move it somewhere? This last bump is unbelievable. An update that in 8 hours, this card will be available here again. Lol. Maybe he can pay for a banner ad if he wants to continue to use net54 as his own personal museum/blog?

If this thread hasn't broken the rules, then there just must not be any rules.

It really isn't fair to the people who follow the generally accepted BST etiquette.

Bigb13 05-12-2016 01:31 PM

I figured you would be the first one to complain but it's ok for everyone else to do whatever they want why don't you take a walk buddy. So other people can put things on BST and other auctions but that's ok? Oh and why don't you stop crying already.
