Here's a new pickup. Rickey Henderson break's Lou Brock's all-time record with his 939th stolen base on 5/1/91 against the Yankees. Rickey was always a favorite of mine so happy to add this to the collection.

Phillies modern no-hitters
3 Attachment(s)
Finished my Phillies no-hitter collection a little while ago. Little chance I'll find any tickets to the team's other no-hitters (Ferguson 1885, Donahue 1898, Fraser 1903, Lush 1906) so I guess I'm done.

Does anybody know if any significant "fake" tickets are floating around? Any links to threads or internet articles on the topic?

I have no clue about tickets, but that looks pretty good. If I were to ever get into tickets, I'd definitely try to educate myself.

In all seriousness, ticket collecting has been free of most of the fraud that's plagued other parts of the hobby for the most part. That being said, it's always a good idea to question anything that seems to be too good to be true. If in doubt you can always ask others on this board for advice. There is a lot of collective knowledge on net54. It blows my mind sometimes... |
Here is one of my tickets...1921 Cleveland Tigers with Jim Thorpe as player coach.

These are tickets to the 1912 Olympics...they include one to attend the inauguration of the stadium, 12th was when Thorpe long jumped, 13th and 14th were for first 2 days out of 3 days of the Decathlon that Thorpe won. I do have an opening day ticket also but can’t locate it right now.

Oorang Indians vs Milwaukee Badgers Football ticket that belonged to John Baptiste Thunder. Each player was given a few postcards to send out for advertising their games with some of the postcards stamped as a ticket also.

I recently came across a couple of cool Mets ticket stubs that were buried somewhere in the vast accumulation of stuff that I call a "collection."
First is a stub from Opening Day 1983. This was Tom Seaver's return to the Mets after a few years with the Reds, or Redlegs as they were known for a few years in the 1950s. https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7899/3...efe2db1877.jpg The other one is May 6, 1983 v. Cincinnati. This was Darryl Strawberry's Major League debut. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4870/3...66545665a1.jpg |

Do you only have olympic tickets from 1912? Do you have any others by chance? Looking for the following (event does not matter):
1896 1908 1920 1924 (Winter only) 1928 (Winter only) 1936 (Winter only) 1948 (Winter only) |

Scott, great pair! Frame them together!
Here's my Highlanders/Sox pair (can't remember if I posted this a while back or not)... |

Really highlights the tickets and no doubt elevates the piece into art on the wall. |
Nice framing job on yours, Mike! Certainly gives me food for thought on what to do with mine!

Recently picked up this 1939 World Series ticket...After further reading on the game, I realized this was the last game Lou Gehrig spent in a Yankee uniform. He dressed, but didn't play this game due to his condition.
Planning to frame it soon with a photo from the game... |
Thanks guys!
I do see sports memorabilia as “art” and sculpture, so I try to celebrate it as such when I can. |

Very happy to add these two to the collection. Game 4 of the 1932 World Series (Babe’s last one) and Game 4 of the 1947 series. Love that the original owner added “No Hitter” to the Ticket even though the No Hitter was broken up with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th!

Koufax 1st career win complete ticket
2 Attachment(s)
Happy to add this unique complete ticket to my Koufax collection. Certain Brooklyn Dodger games from 1954-56 were designated as Elsie games, where youngsters 16 and under could send in 5 Elsie brand ice cream lids, bags or wrappers, plus 25 cents, and receive a grandstand admission ticket to Ebbets Field.
While the 2 parts of the ticket have separated, having both the admission and rain check sides is very unusual. And of course, the topper is that this was a ticket for Sandy Koufax's first win, a complete game shut-out in which he struck out 14. Attachment 349355 Attachment 349356 Rick |

Some help on the year?

I'd appreciate any info or, even good guesses, on the year that this was issued. I know that Dreyfuss died in 1932. Thanks.

Even tho I'm not a ticket collector---
2 Attachment(s)
---I do have a nice one. This is from Game 2 of the '51 WS w/ the Giants and is memorable for the fact it was this game that a NY Rookie named Mickey Mantle caught his spike in a outfield drain pipe cap & tore up his knee, which would be a problem throughout the rest of his career.
I was given this back in '51 from a person who went to that game. |

Great tix everyone. Thought I'd post a pic of one of my better ones. Cal/Stanford Big Game. I had another stub of the seat right next to this one but sold it years ago. Glad I saved this one.

These will get you tickets...

Here are examples of different lifetime passes that people have used to get tickets. They're all on the website CooperstownExpert.com. To see these and a few more click here.
The website is more about autographs but has other collectibles as well. Each HoFer has his own page along with 234 other players. Chances are there'll be something there on your favorite guy. Thanks for looking. |

There might be somewhere to look up seat/grandstand prices for Forbes throughout the years, or even a mention of a specific price for a single season would help tell you if its before or after that date. Maybe even just compare if you can find prices for any MLB venue from the era, including any datable tickets. |

REA had a similar ticket listed last year with same price and tax breakdown as circa 1926. I haven't done a ton of research on these but I hope it narrows it down. https://www.robertedwardauctions.com...y-early-negro/ |

That is extremely helpful. Thanks! I was wondering if the Set Number might indicate the year, but I'm starting to think that it doesn't. On the back, someone wrote the score. All I need to do now is to track down that game! Mark Quote:

Mark, Here's a picture of a ticket I have. I've assumed it was from 1933-40 based on having William Benswanger's name and lack of a war tax from WW2. Unfortunately, dating doesn't seem to be as easy as figuring out the set numbers. Grandstand price here is $1.10 vs your $1.01. I've seen 1940's tickets with a $1.25 Grandstand price.

thanks to all of you. |
Hi Mark,
Set fonts are definitely different, and not the same with the other ticket. This would suggest yours is an earlier ticket, FWIW. |
thanks. I'll keep looking for an 8-5 game in the early 20's.

HOF Jim Palmer no-hitter full ticket
3 Attachment(s)
I also posted this in the July pickup thread, but I'm thrilled to be able to have upgraded the Jim Palmer no-hitter ticket in my advanced no-hit ticket collection.
Here is the only full ticket that I have ever seen in 45 years of collecting to Palmer's gem. Many of you know that I am not a fan of PSA grading tickets, so I took the liberty of cracking the slab and displaying it in my preferred method. |
Those Expos tickets are amazing.

1965 Game 4 World Series Ticket-Question?
I have a ticket from game 4 of the 1965 World Series. I would like to display it with cards of the players from the game. Should I use 1965 Topps cards (the year of the world series) or 1966 Topps cards( player stats from 1965) ?
