Thanks guys. :D

There were 12 that were out of their holder, all but Jennings tapped back in.

Jlighter 05-25-2013 12:17 PM

This grouping here would on their own suffice for a great collection.

Great Cards Mr. B!:)

Nice e94's pete...i have a violet devore i got at the 95' natl in a bargain box! Yours is nicer!

joeadcock 05-25-2013 10:40 PM

Peter

What you say reminds me of my first national in Atlanta, GA in 1992. I was so out there in what I was looking for, I was sitting in these lines to get Promo Cards. If a purple E94 was in a bargain box, not sure I would have noticed.

My mind sent at that time was modern stuff including Promo cards. Boy did that change in the later 90's.

E 94 Cobb

Thanks to Greg for this Cobb. Condition issues but this violet is incredibly tough in any condition. I now have 5 of the 6 different Cobbs, just need one more Cobb.....

Mikehealer 05-26-2013 12:16 AM

Congrats on the purple Cobb, Bob.

E94's

Joe, I thankfully was able to pick up the purple ones for a more than fair price from Joey S, but they never come cheap. Peter, you talking about finding your Devore in a bargain bin blows my mind. I'm just a few yrs in to the vintage card hobby and can't imagine how these could ever be there. I guess the hobby has certainly evolved. Bob nice pickup on the Cobb!

I love me some authentic grade cards. I'd much rather have something like this than pay several times more for a beater.

Just back from Beckett . Those kids need to keep up.

http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/204295...HRANES_NEW.JPG

A pair of R314 Goudey Premiums.....the 1936 issue , the Type 1 ( white-bordered with the little '' Litho In USA'' down in the BR corner ) and a 1937 Canadian Type 5 ( washed-out looking , no gloss at all , consisting of Canadian Minor League players/coaches and for some reason 12 or 13 Detroit players ).
The flip of the '37 is gibberish....''1936 R314 C.....#A17 ''.... I'll crack it out and send it to SGC or PSA unless Beckett decides to read this forum and learn about Vintage . It's a 1937 Type 5 , Dr. Jim.....

another Drum pack....a bit earlier than the ones cards came in but scarce nonetheless...

Howe’s Hunter 05-28-2013 12:07 PM

Certainly the most dramatic pickup in my small collection

and, unfortunately, by dramatic, I don't mean "oh, wow, pristine!" I mean I really never meant to cause that much drama here and on eBay when asking for a bidding partner to help me win the lot this card was in.

<a href="http://s150.photobucket.com/user/T206ster/media/Schaefer_zps6f1d4c33.gif.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s81/T206ster/Schaefer_zps6f1d4c33.gif" border="0" alt="Schafer photo Schaefer_zps6f1d4c33.gif"/></a>

Special thanks to Bobby, who I think took a bullet to get this card in my collection. I certainly do appreciate it, sir. And thanks to everyone who lets me know when they see one.

I just picked this up today. Jimmy Jackson PSA 6 (MC) and you can just make out Hoffman, St. Louis, Amer. at the top!!

I bought this card without knowing it had another name at the top, so I may have this out as trade bait on B/S/T soon...

Steve

Leon

Love the Drum Pack

and I'm also loving the caramels

Mike

I have the other Sweeney triplet ! (THANKS LEON!)another fellow board member has the other triplet from the sheet....these are the only 3 POSSIBLE WITH FACTORY #30!! (that is known about currently)

you deserve that card , Mike, and I'm glad you ve come back...Your taste is impeccable with the freaks, sorry i'm such a tight ass and won't sell:o, i'm too in love with them....no one realizes that these (except for the super prints) are NO PRINTS with factory #30 because they were never finished with the strike....Jim R was the first one to really figure that out with TC and the probable no prints....shit still amazes me:confused:

Congrats all

CONGRATS!!

MVSNYC 05-30-2013 10:16 PM

Thanks Johnny! i hope to slowly get back into the freaks. as you know i had some killer examples years back...looking forward to getting some more.

Best-
MS

mrvster 05-30-2013 10:29 PM

Mike....

that y/b is a great great purchase.......these are only beginning to get the recognition they deserve......the scraps are the intrinsic history of the set....you have now a new tiny art piece.....get that puppy suited up with SGC ....color variation.....before you slab, sounds nuts, but sniff, feel, and enjoy the card before the entombment......that's a small piece of history, and in the future will be centerpieces for some advanced 206 collections.....you know, you've owned them before....even the factory freaks are defining some collections....by far, Jeff's Cobb one of my favorite front bottom to top m/c's...scrap is not crap, it was thought of:)..something that sets them apart with some flava, if you will.......

character in garbage:D

i'd roll in them all day...

sorry about the rant:o
