Some recent pickups, Buffalo Bisons 1946 AAFC.

Very nice! It’s gotta be a thrill to find those. I don’t imagine there are many around.

My lessons:
  • Oxiclean works well but only use if for short amounts of time (e.g. an hour or two at most)
  • If using Oxiclean, what for any bleeding of the graphics. As you as you see that, take it out and stop.
  • Bleach on white pennants, can't be beat.

Red is always going to be an adventure. Sometimes it runs immediately. Sometimes it takes a while. Sometimes it holds up fine. I suspect your Phillies would've had problems even if you had gone with bleach. The bleeding red is manageable though. Just keep soaking/rinsing it with plain water until the running stops. I've never had one that didn't stop running and the bleed usually rinses away completely if you stay on top of it.

Using Oxyclean with red graphics, 30 minutes is my limit. I find most of the improvement occurs within that time any way. For dirtier, non-red pennants I may leave in a little longer. I did do an overnight on an old 70s Bengals pennant (white pennant with orange/black graphics) to see what would happen and the graphics faded pretty badly.

Chiefs v. Vikings super bowl pennant is my favorite. I like the unique graphics/image. Why soooooo rare?

That SB4 pennant is really tough. Being in MN I have bought and sold just about every Vikings and Twins pennant around, but I’ve never had that one. I’ve only seen it a few times over the years.

The rest of those pennants are really nice. That’s some quality stuff.

I'm extremely happy to have picked up this three quarter size "batter and bridge' pennant. The full size versions are extremely common. There are probably 10-20 for sale on ebay at any given time. This is the first 3/4 I've ever seen. I have a similar 3/4, but it is not an exact replica of the full size. It's interesting that I've never seen one of these - the silk screen would have had to have been completely different i.e. they didn't just print full size graphics on a smaller pennant. It also appears this one never had color, other than the shoes. I've looked at it closely and I don't think it's a case of the color just fading out. BTW - do we know who made these left handed batter pennants?

Nice pickup. I have a reverse find.

I picked up this 1940s Tigers Pennant. It's a little faded in a few spots but I've not come across it before. Mike Egner's book only shows a 3/4 version of this pennant. Anyone else have or come across a full size version?

Very Cool looking pennants and great detail in them.

Those San Fran Pennants would look great on display.

Just curious how do most pennants get displayed that are shown in this thread?

I have a few Toploaders on the wall, but I'm also using an idea that Mark showed in post 4884. The acrylic shelf is great. It takes about 20 pennants in toploaders and I move the front one to the back about once a week. That way I rotate through them all.

Here are my Oilers. Marc I noticed yours doesn’t have the pinkish colored AFL logo. It looks better white like yours. Another oddity is that in the dark blue pennant Oiler Man isn’t wearing #60 (I assume it isn’t ‘GO’) …

Love the displays and you are right Mark's idea is pretty simply and cool looking
