Rob hit the nail on the head. Clearly different font and “aged” fabric. Others may disagree and I’m not afraid to be wrong. I have been surprised before by what people have convinced themselves is authentic.

A big thanks to Kyle, Rob, Rob, Michael and Erik for their help (photos, info, etc.)

If anyone has updates that they'd like me to include, please let me know.

Because we all love stats...
  • 751 pennants catalogued
  • All have unique catalog references
  • 51.64% have manufacturers identified
  • 8% have rarity assessed

The current Top 10 by "team" as follows:

127 Giants
90 Dodgers
63 Cubs
43 Yankees
37 Tigers
26 World Series
25 Phillies
23 All-Star Game
22 Houston
21 Reds

Hey Gary...

I have at least 60 pennants that are not appearing on your spreadsheet. I don't have time to upload/post them all here. But if you can PM me your email address, I can shoot the images over to you. Once I am able get into my bins, there may be another 60. But that's for a later day...

Thanks,
Mark

Gary,
I took a look at your catalog. Nice work. My tech skills are non existent, but that must have taken a long time to put together. Like Mark, I have a number of pennants I could try to photo for you. I just don’t know the easiest way to get the photos to you. Very nice work putting that together.

One of my favorites from my collection. Does anyone know the best way to handle these when shipping to an auction house? I am thinking about consigning some of my better ones but most are matted and framed and under glass. This one and a few generic pennants I'll keep for the game room. My dilemma, for lack of a better word, is it seems I am the only one that appreciates the pennants and the little ones feel restricted in an area they want to be able to play in. Is it a game room (a place to have fun) or Dad's baseball museum (no ball playing allowed!).

Thanks Mark. I've send you and Jason a PM. Any photos or other info that you can share would be gratefully received.

Magnificent Tigers pennant Adam! There's one you never see...

I would not ship them framed. The glass could break, and it would cost a fortune to ship. I would remove them from the frames and ship them one of two ways....

1. Flat, within a plastic sleeve and sandwiched between rigid cardboard

2. Loosely curved around the inner perimeter of a large box with peanuts or bubble wrap in the center for support.

I would not roll them too tightly, as the painted graphics can crack if bent too severely. Hope this helps and best of luck!

I may be repeating myself, but Al Lopez wants his train back ...
