No idea of team, place, or year, but loved the playfulness and zombie eyes in the back row.

I love horizontal cards and the sunset on this one just adds to the appeal.

It looks like there are names written in pen on two of the players - Harry Forbes and Charlie Forbes - could they possibly be brothers? I poked around on Google and came up with this: there was a Harold Alexander Forbes born in 1892 in New York state that had a sibling named Charles M. Forbes. From the looks of the photo, it appears to be circa 1910-1915. That would put Harry in the 18 to 23 year-old range, which seems to be about how old that individual is. I don't have a subscription to ancestry.com or genealogy.com, or else I would be able to research it further. Maybe someone else could pick up the torch? Hope this helps! |

That's such a cool pose Bryan.
How about the guy up next? I wonder how many RBI's Gehrig would have had if he didn't follow Ruth n the lineup. https://www.net54baseball.com/pictur...ictureid=22531 |

So many great cards on this thread, so I thought I would post something more pedestrian...here's a T218 of Edward Payson Weston.

Relatively underrated T206 caption error when compared to "DOPNER"...

My Holy Doyle. Watched it for almost a year before I noticed it had my name on it. A few weeks after I bought it another one showed up with only 2 holes I just missed being able to start a count down to no holes on Doyle.

Here is my only real photo postcard. Definitely something I could have pursued if 20th century prewar cards hadn't consumed my attention and pocketbook.
I love that it looks like Hollywood central casting was called in to assemble this rag tag (but tidy and uniformly uniformed) crew, with the kindly Father Finnegan leading them down the straight and narrow both on field and off. Of course, the player at the upper left may have to ask for forgiveness in confession based upon his suggestive batting stance. Brian |
