Wow, an explosion of posts! Really nice additions to the thread, Angels fans had some good photo skills. And those expansion padres are very cool, would be a bidding war for sure!
Also I wonder what Bert was signaling with his finger down? Great shot. |

Hey calangels66,
I love all the Angels' snapshots! I followed that lot of early '40s Angels snapshots on eBay for years, and I probably should have pulled the trigger. I grew up near the "Big A" and have many fond memories of watching games starting in 1970. Here are a few snapshots from those days ... |

I'm not necessarily a snapshot collector, but I picked up this group of photos. I know some of the players, but would love some thoughts on others.

A few years ago I stopped by an antique mall & after walking around a bit, I found a booth that had a shoebox full of baseball snapshots ($2 each/3 for $5). I began to thumb through them & figured out that the majority of them were mid 1990's taken at both Veterans Stadium & newly opened Camden Yards.
After not seeing any that really piqued my interest, I was finally rewarded with this shot of Bo Jackson (from his final season) chatting with Cal Ripken Jr.: https://i.imgur.com/xSLIFYw.jpg |

Sticking with the recent, more modern theme.
Here's one I believe to be late 70s-80s of the commerce comet. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7d6f9aa041.jpg |

Man, some great snapshots lately; especially like all of the Angels examples.
Here's one of Brooksie (miss him). Anyone else have any examples of Brooks?1? If so, I'd love to view... |

1924 World Series

I found this in a box of photos at the flea market, a1924 World Series outdoor scoreboard. Amazingly it's from Game 7. It's difficult to see, but to the left of the 1st inning, it says NY-Washington.

Here are a few I believe (1927?) Cardinal Snaps. Unfortunately Im not sure of any player IDs for certain. Love the World Champion Sweater!

1920’s snapshot of Walter Johnson from Clearwater Florida during Spring Training. This also came with a very cool LOA from his family.
|
Lucas, could all three of your late '20s snapshots of Cardinals be the same player? I took a quick look at the team's roster from 1926-27, and Taylor Douthit jumped out at me as a possible match.

Here's Johnny Wright, who the Dodgers signed shortly after signing Jackie Robinson, playing for the Montreal Royals in 1946. Also displayed here is a wonderful snapshot of some anonymous WWII team. So far, I've found a couple minor leaguers whose names match the ones listed on the back.

Though I have to note the guy in the Jacket does have a different pattern on his socks and pants. A really interesting group for sure. Also love that snap of the WW2 team. The identification is super cool. |

I just recieved a Pee Wee Reese snap so I thought I'd share the Jackie I also recently acquired. I'm going to frame the two together.
I have a little background on the Jackie as an autographed sibling sold awhile back at REA. Without that sale I wouldn't have found out its from the 1951 Cooperstown game. Thanks for looking! -Wade REA sale: https://bid.robertedwardauctions.com...e?itemid=42279Attachment 601385 Sent from my SM-G970U using Tapatalk |

Got a cool Girls team snap today. What makes it special is it was taken on my birthday. Also the Permanent Hi-Gloss Fade-Pruf Stamp is something I have never seen before. I had no idea photo fading was being addressed as a problem in the early 1930s! Guaranteed not to fade or discolor, now that's a bold statement.
Anybody recognize the AGA Emblem on the one Girls Shirt? Have looked high and low to no avail on identifying. |

Great mail day today. Crosley Field, war time 1943. Bobo Newsom in the foreground and beautiful Crosley Field in the background.

Just picked this early career Ted Williams signed snapper. I don't often see the "Ted" with quotes version of his auto. Anyone know anything about that version?
|
Nice pick up Paul! Beautiful autograph!
Not sure when he started or ended the "Ted" but the photo appears to be from 1940 if that helps based on the Calvert billboard ad. |
Thank you Gary and thanks for the info!

These are from a 1940s University of Kansas at Kansas State University game:

I was in Pittsburgh for opening day (how about them Bucs 9-2!) anyway I added another original Clemente wedding snapshot to my collection. It’s the first one pictured here. I believe I posted the other two before. Posting them here as they make a nice grouping. All three originate from the Clemente Wedding album.
|
Very cool, Clemente wedding photo.
Vera was a looker! ;) |
Forbes Field behind left/left center field. Seller said it was 1911-1915 but I really have no idea. Can't find any other shots with these lights showing. Maybe somebody else is good at dating stadiums?
Really beautiful shot with the model T. Unique as it was taken beyond the outfield rather than in the stands pointing to the outfield like 99% usually are. Things like this are my favorite. Mounted to a cabinet card, but cropped for better viewing experience. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e3e24bf239.jpg |
Just a beautiful piece Lucas! I'm just now noticing, are those kids/people looking through the fence center right in the photo?

1962 spring training with Mickey Mantle signing autos for the youngsters. It has a really interesting note in Spanish on the back. Translated it reads:
Vicky, This is the horse Mantle before the game, here at Pompano field. Pompano Beach 2/18/1962 I'm guessing it's a term of endearment of sorts calling him a hardworker/fast runner. Or maybe they meant caballero which would be gentleman. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b3c595199b.jpg |
Just added these from a board member. Thanks Steve.
All from 1933. The two individuals are from Washington vs the Senators. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a655e98a53.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ee41b5702b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8f7a651513.jpg Sent from my SM-F946U using Tapatalk |
Very young Hank Sauer, either rookie or second year. And a similar 1941 or 1942 Reds multi member snap, not sure of any of the players shown. Cool shot, looks like it was taken in a church yard. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...38b3f3c1d0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d79c39058b.jpg

Great shots Lucas. Both are from spring training and the one on the left was taken at Plant Field in the Tampa while the one on the right was taken at Indiana University which is where the Reds trained a few years in the early 40's due to WWII.
