Thank you Greg... those are simply phenomenal.

mrozie...

That Pirates Room is off the charts! I especially ike the turnstyle entry, Bumblebee Unis and the Locker Display.

Are the Turnstyle and Locker actually from Forbes Field, or perhaps Three Rivers Stadium?

Editing to ask.... Same question for the Section 37 Sign, Ticket Box, and the "Number 2"?

Greg,

Here's the lowdown: the locker is actually from the movie "A League of Their Own", the brown turnstile is from Three Rivers Stadium.

The section sign is cool, two-sided from Cleveland Municipal Stadium an the #2 is a gate sign from Busch Stadium.

Here's an original Forbes Field turnstile.....

I have submitted this photo to my girlfriend as my opening design idea for our studio condo. I think one of the barstools will require a back for sleeping.

I share a one bedroom apartment with my fiance and dog, so the best I could do was a memorabilia shelf. It took some artful arranging (there are a couple other hats stacked under there), but I was able to get about half of my meager collection on here:

I couldn't resist. Bear with me. I don't get to show anything too often and none of my friends here in sunny florida collect anything. I have some baseball cards and memorabilia - just not too much as I'm a mixed sports guy :-) Problem with my cave is there isn't much room for others so I guess it's a one man cave...... I just had a goodwin champions album framed - you can see that the colors REALLY pop even compared to other lithographed albums - just like the cards - so I took some pix while I'm in the process of moving things around. I broke this into two threads in case you want to ignore the other half of my room:o

I may die a terrible "hoarder's" death and it isn't likely to make a reality show. At least I have a window - I didn't show it because most of the time I keep the shades down..................
BTW - there have been some SPECTACULAR displays so far. Truely amazing! I miss collecting base ball related "stuff" but I was priced out - mostly my tastes didn't match my budget.

That is one heck of a display/room. Assume it is collected over many years. Should be put on some show(i.e.new show just saw 2 weeks ago with someone looking for big collections related to one subject). Beautiful stuff. Museum quality. :)

redskinsnut 08-29-2014 11:11 AM

No but that is a cool idea! There is a recess light just above it which is why it looks like that.

Ron,

That is an awesome room! I really like how it has a mixed variety of collectible items. Is that hockey sticks for the stair railing?

eastonfalcon19 09-08-2014 08:26 AM

Thank you Scott and Mark for the kind words. Mark yes they are hockey sticks and they are connected to the wall with hockey pucks. This was actually my dad's idea.

Erick, where did you get the frames?? Or is it custom??

yanksfan09 10-13-2014 06:02 AM

I actually got them from a Michaels crafts store near me. They were marked 59.99 each but 50 percent off so I got 2 of them for 60 bucks

FYI, I had to buy the 24X30 poster frames for mines to fit. Poster size is actually 24"x30"

I'm re-decorating (in reverse). Just the way I like it to look......... NOT!

I actually need to pack/move all of this junk, and am dreading it. Monumental task, but will post updated results to this thread sometime in late 2017. :o

eastonfalcon19 01-15-2015 08:23 PM

Wow!! Great stuff. Where do you get your frames for your pennants from?

perezfan 01-15-2015 09:12 PM

That's a great question, and is getting much tougher to answer...

I always use the sectional frames that you put together yourself. Then you just have to cut the mat/glass/backing to the same size. It saves about $250 - $300 per framing job.... leaving lots more money for new pennants ;)

In the past, these were available at Aaron Bros, Michael's, Ben Franklin, Value Craft, and even Joanne Fabrics. I think all of them have now discontinued these sectional frames. I was told they weren't great sellers. It's either that, or perhaps they just prefer to ream you for custom framing.

Maybe try Hobby Lobby.... they're not readily available to me (here in the NW), but perhaps there's one near you, that you can check out.

If that fails, you can try Amazon. Good luck!

vintagesportscollector 01-15-2015 09:45 PM

Mark - first, good Luck with the move. Why the need to move and where is all this wonderful stuff headed? I hope you are able to display it all again soon.

perezfan 01-15-2015 10:23 PM

Thanks Joe!

Time (and space) will dictate what stays and what goes... still a conundrum.

I'm getting married in late Feb, and consolidating to one household. When the collection is back up to par and on display, I'll send you some images for your wonderful Collector's Website.

Will try to retain just the best stuff. As a fellow collector/forum member/friend reminded me today... Less is more! I have preached it many times.... just haven't yet figured out how to practice it

It's been over a year, but I've always bought all my metal sectional frames online from 'American Frame' in Ohio. I also get all my plexiglass and backer boards from them as well. I never had a bad experience in over a dozen orders. At the time, the prices were much cheaper than going to a local art store like Hobby Lobby or Michaels, but I haven't checked prices lately. Hope this helps.

Matt

eastonfalcon19 01-16-2015 06:19 AM

Thanks Mark. I'm going to have to check out Hobby Lobby, there are 2 within a 30 mile radius of me. Hopefully I can find them bc they are really nice.

What a great display, good job.

Henry,
I made a list of all the items I would like to have out of your collection, but it was going to take three threads. So I will simply say......WOW.

Rob,
One word comes to mind................wall. What color are your walls cause I can't see them.....LOL. Just kidding, that is one hellava lot of items Great display.

Bob,
Great job, I really like that Mathewson tobacco advertisement piece you have framed. Great color. Just one question, when is the Grand Opening???

There are just too many to mention, so many great rooms, good job by all. If every piece has a story, There are thousands of hours of good conversation being displayed.

Great job by all.

I took some quick pictures of my collection , which is displayed at my office.

I have only been collecting for about 4-5 months and focus on Buffalo Braves and Buffalo Bills ( pre-73 , specifically their oval logo and red standing buffalo items)

I try to stay away from individual player items, but some stuff has found it's way into the collection

Jay Wolt 01-22-2015 12:33 PM

That's a nice Buffalo Braves/Bills collection, especially after just 4-5 months.
The displays look great.

I brought part of the man-cave out to the man-desk, in preparation for the Super Bowl - the magic NFC Championship ball from last year's humiliation of the 49'ers, had to come out for luck. We'll be giving it a rub prior to the game (euphemism for other pre-game traditions? perhaps...).
