Shaun,
Nice Matty for your first T206. Probably not your last. :) The Monster's draw can be quite strong. Marty Quote:

1) A trimmed OJ with a sharp image 2) A colorful 19th century trade card that shows the old school game (e.g., players standing on the bag) 3) One of the few non-photographic, pre-war cards that depicts a player sliding in the dirt |

I'm psyched to add this "Old Pete" to my E121-80 set. I also finally added a Type 3 back which completes my run of back types and variations:

Nice pickup re the "Old Pete" card, and nice spread of back types and variations! But, are you saying these 5 examples comprise all of the known back printing types (4) and back variations (2)? I have assumed that each of the 4 back printing types existed with each of the 2 back variations (read top-to-bottom and bottom-to-top), making a total of 8 cards needed to have a complete run. Hopefully, my assumption is wrong, which would mean that I am much closer to a complete back run that I thought I was! Val |
Thanks Val.....you might be right. I'm pretty new to the set. I've only been collecting it for less than a year. From the research I've done, I've found that only the Type 1 back is found in both "regular" and "reverse". If you or anybody more educated on this knows of a Type 2 or Type 3 back found in "reverse" or a Type 4 back found in "regular", I would be interested to know.
Currently, my assumption is that there are 4 back types with only Type 1 having an additional "reverse" variation which are the 5 I posted. Thanks |

Happy to have picked up this card - one of the best t206 poses with one of my favorite backs. A couple of nicks around his face but the back is in excellent condition.

My 24th M101-6. One of the coolest things about this set (at least for me) is that I can get a card that I had never even seen before. Thanks Mark for the trade!

My first ever T206 card, thank you Matt
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps1dae4dbd.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps639ce3b7.jpg for being over 100 years old, still looks to be in good shape |

Nice E92 Evers Luke, that's such a cool image of him.
Picked this one up off BST from rman (thanks Richard, btw- looks like 2nd card arrived safe and sound). I'm finding I like going after lower cost alternatives of the higher cost cards which share image/pose/etc. |
First time posting a mailday on here. Picked up a nice 55 Koufax rc, and some nice 1952 high numbers that will send off for grading very soon. Thanks guys.

I call this Christy wears lipstick. So, you guys can tell me if I am right (I am still learning about this hobby), but I think this would be the registration is off? I have two questions, though. One, if the red ink shifted, then why is it off on both the left and the right side? Two, is the stray red dots up by the top of his head, on the left side, drops of ink from the print being a little sloppy, or is it something that got on the card later (like a drop of kool-aid)? Anyway, I think this is a pretty "kool" card.

Thought I'd only stick with my handful of CJ 14 but couldn't pass up good price on this, one of my favorite images and great centering. And "none higher" as they say. Also great when the life story is so amazing--from World Series hero w/ Miracle Braves to World War I hero--and then served during World War II. Still a field named after him at Ft. Benning....

So with the show in just a few days I did something I don't usually do and spend money the week before but hey when the deals roll as well as they do you just can't pass sometimes. Anyway I scored another 6 more for my 34 Goudey Set. Currently at 33 cards in the set. One is an SGC but that could be possibly upgraded this weekend. Hope to share some more Saturday with you guys
