Got my first pre-war card! Woooooot. I mentioned this in another post about T206 but this is one of my favorite poses in the set. Hat flipped up. Old style glove visible. Staring down the hitter.

Not quite my Gregg's patina, but it's pretty impressive despite the chin

I've been wanting to pick up this regional issue for awhile now.

Bryan, if you think the first card is fun, wait until you really get into the set. But you'll always remember that first one. My first was Chick Gandil. I hope you have as much fun collecting as I've had.

Just picked up this cool 1940 San Francisco Seals stamp book. I know almost nothing about it. But the book has 17 out of the 25 stamps and even more amazing 23 out of 25 autographs.

Thanks guys. I'm trying to do some research on it. I'm not too familiar with PCL issues. But I just had to have it when I saw it.

Runscott 12-19-2012 09:33 PM

Packs, that's a fabulous item.

Received this wonderful present in the mail today from Greg Bussineau Sports Rarites Auction. Thanks for getting it to me before the holidays!

Wanted to also thank Old Cardboard Magazine, because they sent an email alert that the Greg Bussineau Auction was ending which alerted me to this item.

The fact that this T4 had eluded me in several previous auctions, where it had sold for much higher prices in previous Lew Lipset and Legendary auctions, makes this pickup even sweeter.

Happy Holidays,
(P.S. Note that the team name is in script on the T4 and block letters on the 1911 Obak.)

Patrick

Got all these today from Ralph P. Thanks! Two crop marks, both Sullivan and a Gilbert sheet mark. Didn't know I was a fan of Gilbert & Sullivan until today! I feel more cultured already

Isn't that postcard from Nampa, Idaho, Scott? If so, that could well be the field on which the Weiser Kids, with Walter Johnson pitching, played.

Actually Five:
Cobb (Bat On), Eddie Collins, Evers (Portrait), Jennings (Both Hands), and Walsh. Add to that two different Chase and a Gandil, plus a handful or two of commons.

markf31 12-21-2012 02:28 PM

My first T213, and another Johnny Evers for my collection. Sweet Christmas gift from my wife!

Runscott 12-21-2012 08:33 PM

Hank, Jason,

Yes, it's Nampa, Idaho.

Jason - that's cool. Apparently there was a photographer present with a steady hand. You don't see too many action shots from that era, this clear.

Just buy 4 lionel carter t206 cards. I choose principaly the howell and the nichols because these cards pass almost all his life with my Plank in the same page of mr Carter album.

My 4 purchase:
