3 of my current favorites.. |

My favorites today. First is 1890 Giants Player's League cabinet with images of players at their position on the diamond. Second contains first image of Jake Beckley as a Western League player. Third is one of the few Cincinnati CdVs that can be definitively dated to 1869.
|
Wow, that Giants Players League cabinet is off the charts. So cool.

This is quite a thread!!

Thanks guys-that Giant Player's League cabinet is truely one of my favorites. Jim--I love that N167 Welch.
|
Nice that they made Welch smile in the N167 image.
Interesting to compare the E223 and the N167 that way. Great cards, Jim! |

Jay, that 1890 Giants PL cabinet is cool on so many levels. Beyond the obvious importance of the team/league, the portrait layout is very interesting and a colored mount with cool graphics never hurts.
I also really like game-in-progress photos (like Tony's) and Gary's National Nine. Fantastic cards. I'll bump this back to top with a few more, some of which I've already posted (sorry), but still among my favorites. An 1886 Tomlinson team photo, 1886 Game in Detroit, and an 1888 game on the road, Detroit vs Philly. The 1888 image is a modern photo developed from the original glass plate negative, not sure if an original photo exists. |
Joe
Very nice material. |
wow!
The wide variety and overall beauty of cards here are amazing, we have some really incredible collections from many members. Thanks for posting!

Tough to choose
But I'll go with the ones I want to look at the most these days:

Great Fatima card! |
Just starting to collect but picked these up recently. Non pre-war but my father collected Topps 52 when he was 9 and passed an almost full set on to me recently. I like the Mantle ; )

How cool to inherit that set from your dad! That Mantle is a beauty!

Scott, that 1923-24 Exhibit Babe Ruth is going to make you a wealthy man some day, if you allow it to! But what sorrow upon parting with it:(:(:(:(
