Here's one that looks like a snapshot, but I'm not really sure what it is. There's an identical picture on PSA's Autograph Facts page but with a different inscription.

Ed,
Snapshot or not, regardless, it's awesome!
Having it inscribed to Ed is awesome for you. Congrats!

Love the photo of the kid imitating Ott. Judging by the ball in the catchers glove it looks like he got his front foot down a bit late maybe he was imitating Ott facing Feller.

Thanks to net54 board member Bill Dictus, I was able to add this great WaJo 1920's snapshot to my collection of no-hit pitcher snapshots.

It originates from the Walter Johnson family estate.

Lombardi most likely had many multiples of this photo made for him so he could send them to people who requested autographs.

Pre rookie Minor league shot of Tommy Davis with the Montreal Royals. Alongside Solly Drake.

Tommy only played 14 games with the Montreal club before moving on. So I can't imagine too many shots exist of him in a Montreal uniform.

Solly also has his part in history as half of the first African American brother duo to make the major leagues. He did it alongside his brother Sammy. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1a1057ff6e.jpg

I love the shot of Babe in front of the tunnel. Is that Forbes Field? I have a number of snapshots taken with the same background. and most of them were taken by EF Collins.

Lucas, do you where know your snapshot of Solly Drake and Tommy Davis was taken? I'm wondering if it's Delorimier Stadium.

Here are snapshots of Dixie Walker with the same background as Babe, and Tommy Davis, taken in 1958 with the Victoria Rosebuds, likely just a month or so before he joined Montreal.

Chris,

Not sure what stadium the Ruth photo was taken, but it does look like the same background as your Walker photo.

The back is stamped American Studios.

Wow, Tommy looks like he got a few years older in just a month or two!

Love the Sparkle Tone Branding as well on your shot, it gives that 50s aesthetic that I love so much.

As for the stadium, definitely is Delorimier! Will attach a great photo to show similarities. It's A few decades earlier but shows the high right field wall and the windowed factory style building beyond the stadium.

Also Speaking of Ef Collis, I have a beautiful very young Don Drysdale (seemingly rookie year?) Shot I believe Collins took. Very snap-esque though I believe it's a shot made to be sold (though I'm not certain, can't find Another example). With a great looking auto from Don. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0ee354969b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ec647c4897.jpg

There was a wonderful group of snapshots taken in 1939 and 1940 in Crosley Field that was auctioned off on eBay last week. There were 7 team lots representing each visiting team. I was fortunate enough to win two lots, the Cubs and Bees. Did anybody else where win any of the lots? Pictured below are Dizzy Dean, Claude Passeau, Al Simmons (with an unidentified player, maybe Eddie Miller) and Casey Stengel.

Chris, I attempted to win the dodgers lot as it had a pee wee reese rookie. But got sniped on it.

Great wins!!!

Chris Counts 02-18-2023 06:43 PM

Hi Lucas, the seller didn't identify most of the stars. He said the Dodgers lot was from 1939, so I was hoping the snapshot of Pee Wee would slip through the cracks because he came up in 1940. It was a real beauty.

I didn't realize Stengel and Simmons were part of the Bees lot until after I bought it.

The seller identified the photographer as a Mrs. Ben Fox, who's pictured above with Passeau.

Great pick ups!

I was the under bidder on the Dodgers lot. The Pee Wee was certainly a hidden gem. Props to who won it!

Congrats on the Cubs lot Chris!...I was the under bidder on that one as well Awesome Dizzy & you get a pic of the photographer as well which is what I thought was neat.

I was lucky to win the Giants & Phillies lot.

Two photos of the same U.S. Olympic female track athlete taken inside the stadium at Berlin. She is wearing her opening ceremony parade uniform in the first photo and warm up suit in the second. You can see her participation badge on her lapel in the first photo. Impossible to read, but is says 'Leicht Athletik' on an orange ribbon. I just received them. Though not quite sure, I believe she is Gertrude Wilhelmsen who competed in discus and javelin. In the background of the photo on the right you can see two members of the medical staff carrying a stretcher. The swastika armband is visible on the one just behind the guard.

Attachment 562077

U.S. Olympic rowers on the ship on the way to Berlin for the 1936 Olympics. All of them competed for one of the rowing clubs in Philadelphia (Undine, Penn AC). The one standing won a bronze medal in single sculls. The others did not medal.

I was scanning some autographs including the one on this photo. Members of the 1932 Olympic track team. The women walking to the right is 19 year old Babe Didrikson. The woman above her right arm is the only 1932 Olympian I met in person: Mary Carew. The tall blonde in the middle is Billie von Bremen. They both won a gold medal in the 4x100m relay.

Here are a few recent no-hit pitcher snapshots to share:

Pirates LHP John Candelaria (photo taken at the 1977 All Star game at Yankee Stadium)
