Ken I don't know if there are too many tears in St. Louis tonight.
That is unless the Cards fans were told that they had a future that looked something like the Cubs does. :)
It says something when your joy has to come from someone else losing as opposed to you ever winning.
But then that's the life of a Cub fan.

Great job BOSTON!

Jeff,

I have a friend who is a diehard Cardinal fan and I had to listen to his baloney all year. That is where I am coming from. Cards had a great year and the series was awesome but the crow my friend gets to eat by gloating all year is definitely deserved. LOL

Boston Is Plain Dominant

This is a case where the better, the hot hitting lineup, determined, and brilliant pitching staff wins. All anybody in Boston, any Sox fan has to say is

SCOREBOARD

Any comebacks can be answered with

SCOREBOARD

I am a Pirate fan who is looking in awe at what a passionate, determined, well run team can do. Congrats to the Sox and Beantown. Just an incredible run this year.

See y'all in 2014

P S. Thanx for keepiing A- Fraud out of any playoff opportunity!

Vol 10-30-2013 11:52 PM

Congrats to all the BoSox fans out there. :)

Great season!!

Now for the long winter..

oldjudge 10-31-2013 12:19 AM

Congratulations to the BoSox--great team effort! Can there be a stronger indictment of Bobby Valentine as a manager?

+1. Great point...

Very happy for Red Sox, only regret is to see Wacha get hit so hard in the most important game of his life. He'll bounce back. He was a great story this year.

He seems to be a well grounded kid, he'll be back.
Gotta learn to take the bad with the good.
That's called learning your lesson on a big stage though.

Absolutely true.

Warriors, come out to plaaaaaaay.

Piratedogcardshows 10-31-2013 07:07 AM

Congrats to the Red Sox and all of there fans. That was a fun Series to watch.

steve B 10-31-2013 10:55 AM

The Cards will be back there soon. They've got a lot of very good young players, especially pitchers. As these things go, they were maybe a handful of plays away form winning or making it a lot tougher.

Enjoy it while it lasts, you'll be back in last next year. They're far from warriors. Also Glad to see Roidtiz get treated like a hero even though he's a cheater and that he should win the MVSU award(most valueable steroid user).

Stop feeding the troll, Steve. Maybe he'll go back under the bridge to wait out the winter with his beloved geriatric Yankees.

Ken,

I hear ya. I am sure it got old. He who gloats can eat crow. Although I am not sure how much crow there is to eat when your team makes the WS. I am a fan, a longtime Cardinal fan but I don't consider myself a gloater. We're all different, I never seemed to uber-enjoy another team's misery, even it is the so called mortal enemy; BoSox/Yankees, Cubs/Cardinals.

But I did learn in an earlier thread that most Cardinal fans are, I believe the word was, insufferable.

Wait out the winter? He's going to wait out the rest of the decade before the Yankees contend for anything.

I love how you keep calling me a troll considering I've been a member of this forum for several years.

Also Sean, how is it going to be a decade till we contend for anything? This past season we had so many injuries to our starters, to our backups and also our backups backups. Yet we still finished with a above .500 team and were still in the playoff race till the final two weeks.

I'd disagree. I went to all the World Series games at Fenway and met some Cardinal fans and they were a nice bunch of people.

Heck, even most, not all :-) Yankee fans I've meet are pretty nice.

CMIZ5290 10-31-2013 06:15 PM

Congrats to the Redsox, same old Braves though....:(

"This past season we had so many injuries to our starters, to our backups and also our backups backups."

Known side effects of PED ingestion.

Jeff,

Yep, and some humble pie was served, crow alamode. For a change, I didn't have to hear about " The World Champion St. louis Cardinals". It was left in the Cubs matra, wait til next year. i have to remind him that the Cardinals were World Series Champions a few years ago. :-)

Same with Ortiz. Love how two years ago his career looked over and even boston fans wanted him gone. But no now he's back like 04 form but being 37.

Aren't there some draft picks you need to be checking out? :D

Very cool Steve! Thanks for posting.

I don't know about you, but to me this Championship was just as enjoyable & perhaps more unexpected than '04! What do you think?

Ladder7 11-04-2013 04:05 AM

Unexpected, by a mile. And especially helped heal Aprils' wounds... But nothing beats '04. Boston had a reason to smile again. And our great grand parents could finally RIP.

Series

Have lived in Texas for last 20 years but was born bad raised in St Louis and went to Series games in 64, 67, 68, 82, 85, 87, 04 ( game 4 ), 06 and 11 ( game 6). This year I am on a cruise from Montreal to Miami and did not see a single game. But ironically we stopped in Boston the morning following the clincher. It was fun to see the city in such a festive mood, including, the statue of Washington in a Sox Jersey. I dutifully wore my Cardinals cap and took some good natured ribbing, but for the most part, folks were very gracious to us "losers". We also had a great visit to that beautiful and historic city

I made the parade and snapped this pic smack dab at the intersection of Park St. and Tremont next to the common with the State house directly behind me at approximately 11:20 am Saturday morning.

This picture sums up the season for me. Two newcomers fitting seamlessly into the TEAM. Great year and quite unexpected. Sometimes those are the best kind. Word!

Ball point pen is much better than Sharpie for that ball, kid! :D

Very nice ad - St. Louis fans were super classy in '04, and I'm hoping we can continue the friendly rivalry in the Series in future years as well!

GoldenAge50s 11-06-2013 04:11 PM

One helluva' nice gesture by the classy Red Sox organization!
