Yeah, that little guy fills a hole from the 4-in-1 I sold last year and couldn't really justify spending to replace. Feels like a wholesome mini-card, even the cut edges probably have 80 years of wear on them. Reminded me of the insurance commercial, "only pay for what you need". Happy to have it.

Here are my Ruth’s.
I’m on team 144 for sure. And a 1/1 game used bat barrel. It’s pretty tough to find the outer pieces of bat when getting game used bat pieces. |
Every time I see those cards I feel horrible that an historic bat was cut up to make a bucks for a card company.
|
Did they really create a Babe Ruth bat card and use a reverse image photograph???????????? Of the most famous left handed baseball player in history???????? Come on, Leaf!!!!! Come on!!!!!
(And yes, I realize it's possible he was just holding the bat righty, but I don't believe for moment that's the case!!) |
Some Great Cards.
and love the Diversity of Ruth Cards. Never realized so many types and sizes Keep Them coming LEON are you going to show us your 1914 Ruth? |

From the sketchy provenance to the destruction of sacred memorabilia, just owning one might get you banned from Net54. :) But if they kick you out, they'll have to send me with you...I personally think they're cool. Getting to own a piece of bat used by Babe Ruth for the fraction of the cost of a playing days card? Yes please! Here's the one I picked up a few years ago....I love it (not as much as I love my vintage w517 and 1935 Goudey cards posted earlier in this thread....but I think it's pretty awesome). That is a beautiful Ruth bat card! Just as you said, owning a piece of history for a fraction of the cost is very appealing. |

I like this pose a lot and it's from a less pricey set. It only looks grainy in the pic. It is very real. https://luckeycards.com/pf52frojoyruth.jpg |
Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth
I have the original photograph by George Lyons of Babe Ruth & Ted Williams from 1948 with the photographer copyright stamp. There was a premium of this photograph that was put out on the market.

Here are my favorite Ruth items that I’ll pass on to my kids one day. Would love to add some cards but even in low grade they’ve become cost prohibitive.

Picked up a big guy (literally). Trying to think what to keep it in. I like one-touches for my cards so was thinking maybe a comic book sized magnetic holder would be worth trying. Would be a bit of extra space, but just might work for displaying.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...97346fb3b7.jpg I have a large number of large items ; Beckett in Texas naturally does things in a large way.: ..http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/204295...JACKIE_NEW.JPG .... .. If that R309 still has the easel on the back then even with the crease and touches it's still a large number and Beckett is a good protection provider. Kinda like that vault option everybody and his brother is now offering, only closer . .. |

I’ll have to compare them in person, but that Ruth premium is quite thick cardstock and the easel on back adds even more thickness to it. Since the 8x10 is described to be for photos, wonder if it would smush a thicker item like this…or maybe not even close correctly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
