More Hoffman examples here.
This was obviously one of the trickiest cards for the printers to get right. Here are examples of: - White 2b, darker shading on portrait - White 2b, little shading on face - Yellow in 2b, darker shading on portrait - Yellow 2b, green stripe in background - Yellow 2b, "normal" portrait (blue eyes evident) - White 2b, but yellow in 3b, and a small yellow triangle above 1b I wouldn't call all of these variations per se, but they definitely show that this card gave the printers fits. |
Here is the last card to finish out the letter "H"...Versatile utility man "Silent John" Hummell with an Honest Long Cut back
The letter "I" is the first of 4 letters to not be represented in T205..the others are U, X and Z Jacklitsch is nexthttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...14bc93d0df.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3eb7a47272.jpg Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Sheepishly I’ll admit to following this site for years. So I consider all of you teachers. Collecting has been an education and a passion. It’s exciting to finally participate in the forum I’ve come to enjoy so much. So, thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Posting the second of three T330-2 Piedmont Art Stamps with similar artwork, but not seen in the T205 set. Killifer is the only one of these three (also Blair and Wood) that was not seen as an end panel in the T202 set.

Yeah, you don't see too many Killifer stamps around...I looked for this for quite a few yearshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0661f05f31.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a1f5dad3c5.jpg

The artwork/image on those Killifer stamps is amazing - don’t think I’ve seen one before.

Konetchy, Krause

Here's a nice Krause and a Konetchy that is in poor shape. The front is decent, but the back has scrapbook remnants attached. I guess I should soak it one day to see what brand it is. Green ink.
(found a nicer copy of Konetchy in a box, so I added it here.) |
After these two ball players LaPorte is next:https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...46848ea4af.jpg

Leach was small in stature but apparently very fast. He hit four triples in 1903 in the first World Series game. Not surprisingly, it’s still a record.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2ccfafa7f4.jpg

Livingstone is a tough Single-Print. We proceed to John Lobert.....
Like the bio on Lobert's card reads.... John was one of "the fastest men" in BB. So how fast was he ?
In 1913, John Lobert and Jim Thorpe raced the 100 yard dash at the Polo Grounds and Lobert won.
