October has been a fantastic month for many Net54 members. Congrats on so many drool worthy purchases.

Here's today's mail day. The '15 CJ Collins was courtesy of board member Ed Hans. Thanks Ed! The '35 Goudey Foxx was an Ebay bucks purchase.

I strictly collect post war, (so far) and was just thinking, I have likely spent more money this month than any other month since I joined this site!

But, with that being said, I have picked up some great cards and pieces that I have wanted for a while now. :)

Nice cards Dean! That Collins looks real nice for a 3!

Thanks Eric! I'm very happy with it for sure.

Inspired by Raymond's incredible Hornsby, I pulled the trigger on this one, minus the auto.

Sharp looking card, Chris!

This one might look familiar

NJ found this one either late last month, or early this month (my memory is terrible). I found a replacement, and now Bull is number 297 in the rebuilt Howe collection. Thanks NJ

My absolute pleasure. Thank you for giving me such a generous trade deal in return. Enjoy the card!

Won the first card from REA, which I've been looking for a long time, and definitely paid an arm and a leg for it. The second card I got from Goldin, and purchased mainly for the Ruth "ghost" image on back even though I already have this exact card in the same color tint, too.

Nice looking Ruth Exhibit, Gary. I always find it odd to see the word "poor" near a card that looks anything but.

glchen 11-01-2016 08:58 AM

Thanks, Sam! It's the usual back damage as the reason for the low grade.

Gotta love back damage on blank backed cards. The "Moneyball" of card collecting.

Dean- I'm glad you were able to pick up one...it is a cool card.

I see that yours is marked Boston, N.L. - he only played there in 1928.

Mine is marked St.Louis, N.L. - his original team for which he played for 12 years - 1915-1926.

Based on that fact alone...and the Standard Catalog of Vintage Baseball Cards does not provide any further information - I would say that your version, minus the autograph of course, is significantly rarer and perhaps more valuable....just surmising.

Now, tell me who your seller was...he owes me a finders fee. LOL
