....not very clean nor bright but for some reason this Canadian 1936 World Wide Gum Hank is my thirties centerpiece ; what's weird is that this is possibly the smallest card I own ; my focus has always been "the big stuff" , from 1929 Kashin up to 1939 salutation exhibits and all the big-ass "R" cards in between.........but this little guy is the one that makes me smile...

..

Great, tough card of a truly great slugger, Mike. SABR's projections for him have him at 502 lifetime HR's, had he not missed 4 years to the war, and perhaps his lifetime BA could have been around .320 (instead of .313?) as well?

Thanks for showing it,

Larry

SGC Cobb Bat-off

Restarted collecting three years ago after a 40 year break. First tried Hot Prospects, changed to 60's HOFers, then to 50's HOFers, now only T206s. This Cobb is my favorite.

Steve, that Cobb is my favorite card in the set as well. And that is a great example . :)

Well-loved, but definitely the centerpiece:

Another for the pre-war pantheon:

Now in terms of post-war, I really favor these:

This postcard was a holy grail of mine since I started collecting AAGPBL items. The fact that it is autographed by the full team made it the centerpiece of my AAGPBL collection.

A type I " design change proof" .....a very rare sub set of the already rare T206 proof.....

essentially a "artist protype" of alperman before a few design changes occurred( stripes in cap/shape of cap/ hand on bat drawn differently).....by the original artist....:D

chris, if you can post the super imposition???:)
