Doing great here. Are you planning to do the Nat in AC next year? I'm definitely going to try (hopefully work won't interfere!) Cheers, Blair |

Awesome cards and thanks to all for sharing!
I picked up this Ruth off the BST, my first. <a href="http://s262.photobucket.com/user/crushobsidia/media/Babe%20Ruth%20-%201933%20Goudey%20181%20-%20SGC-1_zpsqxc76okw.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii97/crushobsidia/Babe%20Ruth%20-%201933%20Goudey%20181%20-%20SGC-1_zpsqxc76okw.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo Babe Ruth - 1933 Goudey 181 - SGC-1_zpsqxc76okw.jpg"/></a> |

Gehrig/Dimaggio
Thank you. That's interesting about the photo/card collection your friend has, Lewis. I imagine he has some T206 cards based off of Charles Conlon photographs as well?

Had 2 of my "I didn't go to National" purchases arrive today thanks to Jay (OldJudge).
Ed "Cannonball" Morris played for the 1884 Columbus Buckeyes before being sold to Pittsburgh at the end of the season with the rest of the team. http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...ictureid=18954 Jack Crooks played on the 1889 - 1891 Columbus Solons, but never had a card issued with that team. He did have this issue with the St. Louis Whites and another one with Omaha (still searching for that one). http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...ictureid=18955 |
That right there is an august August pickup! Very nice.

Have had this one for about a year, but wanted to get it put in an sgc holder... Brought it to white plains and was stoked when it came back with a half grade bump...

August pick-ups
I hadn't checked this thread out this month until this morning...great stuff guys!
Mark - I absolutely LOVE that 1940's Leon Day PC. That will go perfectly with your collection. It would look better in mine, but I like checking yours out every other month or so! I also love the PSA 1 WaJo T206. Great looking card! And that's comin' from a non-T206 guy. And Rhett, your Zeenuts are absolutely killer! Your '29 Gomez is a mighty fine lookin' one. This month is lookin' pretty good so far! Keep 'em comin'! |

I'm looking to sell this Leach now

I'll pass I've become smitten about paper loss. HOF'ers are the only minute exception even then I'd rather not.
But if you have another Leach portrait I'll be interested !!!! I know a couple other people have them but the Sov just adds to it. Jealous of your new cards that Young is a beauty. |

A few nice upgrades from recent Collect Auction (all Piedmont :)). The sliver name on Byrne, is also Byrne. Nothing special, but I really like the "bright yellow" background McGann.

Cuban and Venezuelan type hits
1 Attachment(s)
Camera photo of 1956-57 Chicle (Cuban) #5 Silvio Garcia and 1931 Diana Cigarillos (Venezuelan) #5 Luis Carratu hits. Both acquired in person from the owner of CubanBaseballCards.com. I'd never seen the 1931 card before and only had a shot at the Garcia once or twice on eBay. Great additions to the type collection!

Especially pleased about the Gehrig -- it arrived yesterday after a frantic deal with a very nice private collector.
It's my first Gehrig and, as a Neurologist who treats ALS, it will have a special place in my collection. |
