Merry Christmas to me - this D327 Holsum Bread with a Type 2 back arrived today (from the recent SCP Auction). I'm always seeking scarce cards for my Sam Rice collection - 2 cards that continue to elude me are the 1928 F50 Harrington's Ice Cream and the 1931 W502 strip card - also, I want to upgrade my poor condition H801-8 Boston Store card - can anyone help?

Thanks again to Jason for this Frank Harrington T210-5 Old Mill which arrived today. Had a bit of a scare when the box arrived with it's flap loose, but the contents were luckily still inside.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all...even the Yankee fans. Patrick |

MY TWIN!;)
these are a thing of beauty.....I like 'em a little beat up also:D |
Took a chance on this "previously a PRO 8" that some of you might have seen on eBay. Not sure what's going on with the faded front spot, but maybe paired with the paper loss on the back it was in a scrapbook at some point and the glue/paste did the fading.
Anyway, I'm happy to check it off the list as a decent looking example at a reasonable price (best offer). I'm confident it will grade 'A', which is all I really hoped for anyway. http://www.t206.org/misc/cobbgreena.jpg |

Part of the Christmas present to myself, got a number of stars graded. Note the "Yankees" script on Ruth's bat, just in case there was any doubt. :)

My vote is real
2 clues, lettering on the bottom is not fake-looking like reprints, and the lot that I bought them from included others in as godawful condition. That it might be in two pieces without the tape is another story.

Thankful to pickup these two,
Which were priced according to the book!<br><a href="http://s8.photobucket.com/user/zouraspm/media/adjdl/14cjsmith_zpse7680876.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a47/zouraspm/adjdl/14cjsmith_zpse7680876.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 14cjsmith_zpse7680876.jpg"/></a><br><a href="http://s8.photobucket.com/user/zouraspm/media/adjdl/14cjdoolan_zps381fcbb9.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a47/zouraspm/adjdl/14cjdoolan_zps381fcbb9.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 14cjdoolan_zps381fcbb9.jpg"/></a>

I could eat a good meal on 5 bucks...just do not get the attraction. My personal preference is to pay more to get a presentable card that will hold some long-term value. But...all that said, enjoy your 'beater' |
Beater
I guess I wouldn't be so happy with it if I didn't have this card already in my collection. I was pretty pleased when I happened upon this card (the beater above) in the stack of t206s.<br><a href="http://s8.photobucket.com/user/zouraspm/media/elberfield.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a47/zouraspm/elberfield.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo elberfield.jpg"/></a>

As always beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would be really excited to find that Elberfeld for $5. Finding a PSA 5 common for like $30 wouldn't really give me much of a thrill though. I'd buy both, but I would only post the Elberfeld here to show it off.

Pete....
I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but card looks to be "no good"...:o.....meaning reprint:) the beater elber

Not exactly earth-shaking but always loved this card--the color tones and overall feel. Too bad m116s are criminally under-appreciated.

Great Steve!
Those two definitely are not beaters!

Thanks to Jerry Totino for the heads-up on this one

Would have missed it completely, as it was in a PSA 2 holder, but without an MK qualifier. Guess I've just fallen into the habit of not looking at PSA graded cards without the qualifier, trusting them to have done their job. Whoops. Thanks again, Jerry. Number 268 in the rebuilt collection. |
Nice Ruth, Brad! Awesome card...
