I almost put a bid in for that last night. One of my favorite R312 cards. I picked up the 1927 York Caramel E210 - Bob Meusel.

Decided to finally pull the trigger on a few cards for my E95 and T206 sets.

pawpawdiv9 01-24-2014 01:57 PM

Did anyone win this on Ebay?
I bidded on it several times...but gave up when my Goodwin catalog came in the mail
I researched it, as i am not much pre-war, and it says it was a Plank RC...Correct??
From what i seen on prices..it was a good bargin i believe..
It was a NICE one, and have to show it after it ended.

I'm not sure if there are any cards of him prior to this one, but here's his E107 from 1903:

That was my eBay listing. The buyer got a pretty darn good deal if you ask me. Oh well! I don't recall representing it as a rookie, but if I did, it was in error . Rookie cards are what I know best!!

packs 01-24-2014 03:49 PM

Hey guys. I won the Plank. Happy it came from a board member! Just FYI i'll be sending payment after I get home from work.

h2oya311 01-24-2014 03:53 PM

By the way, the "rookie head-cases" (like me) would probably consider his 1902 W600 Sporting Life Cabinet as Plank's rookie, but I wouldn't shed a tear if I had the 1903 E107 instead!!

packs 01-24-2014 03:55 PM

Payment sent! Thanks for the card. I really appreciate the free shipping too.

h2oya311 01-24-2014 03:57 PM

By the way #2, the past tense of "to bid" is "bid", not "bidded". I'm not a grammar nazi, but that one just kills me!

Congrats Lee!! Glad it went to a fellow Net54 member!!

Great card. The Raja is one of my all-time favorite players. Unfortunately he gets overshadowed by Jackie Robinson in a lot of discussions which is sad because Hornsby was a much better player.

I think I just set a record for shortest time listed on ebay. I saw this pop up and could not smash the BIN button fast enough. I just love when this card has big, beefy borders...

Was doing some late night browsing on Scott's site and made these two my first Belltown purchases. Not in hand yet, but after several solid transactions with Mr. Forrest, I know they'll be here quick and safe. Excited mostly for the Meikle (and it's great colors) after having just missed out on one on eBay a couple months back.

freakhappy 01-25-2014 04:20 PM

Matt...killer card! Congrats!

Nice 205's, King...your collection is coming along nicely.

Ian...beautiful pickups as always. And that Scott guy....he's alright I guess ;)

Gotta respect someone with the name Cannonball

h2oya311 01-28-2014 09:04 AM

Nice Heinie! But it's hard to respect a guy named Heinie...

No correction needed. Though he played for the Giants, Titcomb was a true Yankee, born in Maine, raised in Haverhill, MA, and died in NH.

Yea I have Marty. I am trying to complete the set fast well faster than I originally wanted to. Plus some of the deals I have recently been getting is just to good to pass on. I am sure there will be others to come in the near future. Now only if I can score some more 38 goudey's haha
