I owned a small Masonry construction company for 20 years. Then for the last 3 years I have grown hydroponic produce(fruit/vegetables) in a 40' X 76' greenhouse for a living.
A picture from a few months ago of the tomatoes.

Retired in 1994, after 30-something years in the mortgage industry. I created a mortgage company for a large aerospace corporation and established an operations center to purchase mortgage loans from the western half of the United States for a large east coast insurance corporation. Spent a few years taking screenwriting classes and art/watercolor classes trying to find a way not to go back in to the mortgage industry.

Ended up taking a job with the county where I assess commercial and industrial properties for real estate tax purposes. Get to see a lot of interesting businesses in the county including a couple of convents (they are still inventoried though not taxed), crematoriums, new shopping malls, theme restaurants and the place they wash the county's buses.

I enjoy what I'm doing now, I get to be outdoors most of the time and the work is not physically taxing (excuse the pun). Not sure when I'll retire again.

Great thread! Very interesting and impressive folks on here (and thx to those who serve or have served our country). I am closing in on nearly 25 years in the municipal bond industry in various roles - managing mutual funds, inst'l sales or trading for several large banks. Continue to coach my 3 kids in numerous sports (baseball, softball, hoops, flag football, etc), spend quality time with my wife and collect my beloved cubs (autographs, t-cards, memorabilia from pennant and WS champ teams). Enjoy meeting or emailing with other collectors! Best, Kit

My '97. Not so much stock anymore as you can see the Screamin Chicken, S&S and Rinehart parts. My family has been riding/racing Harley since 1921. Hope you have good benefits because if not, this World is shy of good Harley mechs, especially Harley. Ever think about going solo?

Whatever the ailment will be, I am always hopeful he can just fix it. He's an industrious fellow to boot. He's always doing something over there...ie..adding onto their huge outbuilding (they live on 5 acres), fixing cars, pouring asphalt, building fences...you name it. He's got a whole equipment company over there!! I call him Homer Simpson....

Back to the subject, I was in IT sales for 21 years until last year. I just sold a few restaurants recently and am trying to be in the hobby full time now. We'll see how it goes. ....
