Man that's a great place to be! I hope to take dramatic steps forward on Saturday. Hopefully all of the T206s won't be sold off by then!

bravos4evr 08-04-2016 03:56 PM

520????

I'm happy to be at 5! But hey, it takes time, I'll get there by the time I turn 70 I'm sure (43 right now) the chase is most of the fun!

There is plenty of time (and cards) out there. I am 48 and started in high school myself but tried to limit my "common" backs. Only 170 of my 520 are Piedmont or Sweet Cap, so I have tortured myself quite a bit over the years.

Thanks to Don Hontz for my Cobb bat on!

Congratulations. Are you going any further?

Not on T206, unless you know next weeks PowerBall numbers...
There are several other sets I'm working on to take up my time and extra cash, including Batter Up, T205 and a 1935 Goudey master set.

cincyredlegs 08-07-2016 09:12 AM

Hey Frank,

Can you bump me up? At 282 now.

Thanks,

Mark

bravos4evr 08-07-2016 12:59 PM

what are the 4 he's missing from 520 to 524?

Wagner, Plank, Doyle error and Magie?

I'm a noob and want to make sure there's not another super rare I'm missing.

judsonhamlin 08-07-2016 03:58 PM

Yes, those are the missing four, which will unfortunately stay that way absent a big bag of money falling from the sky

Jantz 08-08-2016 07:58 AM

Hi Frank

If you could please, I need a slight adjustment to my Monster Number. My current number now after the National is 391.

Thanks

T206Collector 08-08-2016 08:42 AM

embarrassed to post ha ha. When I get to
100 I'll go for it. Collecting sets is new for me

rfurnish 08-18-2016 06:42 PM

Diving back in

After selling all my T206 cards a few years back, the set is tugging at me again. I'm rereading Ty Cobb, A Terrible Beauty and as I come across the different characters in the book, I'm wanting to pick up those players.

I'm curious as to how long it took some of you to get to 400 plus?

Please put me down as currently having 44.

Thanks,
Ron

Last 5: Matty McIntyre, Jerry Downs, Beals Becker, Jack Dunn, Frank Oberlin

Don't be embarrassed. This is addicting.

I'm going to tame the monster some day one way or another.

vintagerookies51 08-19-2016 09:33 AM

I guess nearly 4 years ago I was at 4, and with the addition of a Bat Off Cobb I'm at a whopping 5.

The Hal Chase Trophy now gives me 11.

Up to 200

drmondobueno 09-05-2016 05:43 AM

Well. It appears the monster is raising its beady head again. Once upon a time, there were three. Then 518. Then 10-something. Seems I stand today at 123. Gawd. Perish the thought.

Greetings Frank

My set #4 is now 467 cards....and, is an All-SWEET CAPORAL, Factory #30 set.

Please identify it as such (abbreviate it as you wish).

Josh,

Very nice OM Jordan. :)

400 on the horizon !!!!!

Fun stuff, Scott

brianp-beme 09-11-2016 11:55 AM

Chalk another one up to the Monster

F

Bump another Buster (please do it in the dark so as to not disturb the Monster) up to 504 as well. My progress is slow and unsteady, much like Godzilla through the streets of Toyko.

Head928 09-13-2016 06:25 PM

Six months into working the monster counted up the checklist last night and was at 250 on the nose.
Decided to jump in the thread.

Separate note. The Wild Bill Donovan (throwing) may be the most beautiful card I have ever seen, certainly that I own. The colors are so striking and warm. Just magnificent.

I am at 210, with more to come soon, I hope. I seem to have piled up a few duplicates too. Would love to maybe trade some of these at some point.
