Thread Too Long Will Not Read That being said, apparently they've lowered the bar so low in Ohio, one can trip over it. |

I'm pretty sure this whole act of you and your pal is nothing more than an attempt to distract from the question I asked. No one is as dumb as you to appear to be. You must be trying to protect the seller from questions. |
I had a fairly disappointing purchase last year where I bought a card that I wouldn't say that the scan was exactly doctored, but the chroma was turned way up and the card didn't look anything like the scan. When I reached back out to the buyer he pretty much gas lighted me...it's obviously the same card...you should have known by the grade that there was a crease (which was not disclosed even though I asked up front)...I wouldn't expect someone from Net54 not to know what to expect. I just called it a day. What looked like a good buy turned out to be a full price retail buy, but it was a somewhat scarce and desirable card so I just figured I'd consider it done and try not to worry about it any further.

Final update - the $15 or $20 to mail, but worth probably, what, $150 for 6 raw 1948 Bowmans? Well, they were delivered today to someone in Petaluma, California. I hope they enjoy them, and experience less drama with them than me.

Hmmm the plot thickens . Makes me wonder if seller/shipper mixed packages/ addresses / buyers info. All in all what a shit show this turned out to be . Im sure you are i know i would be disappointed. P.s. I really hope those Bowmans make their way to you eventually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Now I also feel sorry for Octavio. Looks like he might have mispriced/fat fingered the sale price and sold $150 worth of cards for $15. Now it is very apparent it clearly wasn't about $15. |

I don't get it. Octavio is a long standing member here as well as the Net54 group on Facebook. He has yet to explain anything.. Why?

All I'm saying is your username is all people know and is usually your word if your a good member/seller/buyer or not. Why would someone jeopardize that on a $15.00 sale?
It makes no sense.. Octavio? |
Gotta be one of the most boring and useless threads in net54 history. At least someone started posting some cards to look at.....

1) The USPS is a government agency. Therefore the profit motive isn't a factor here. It's not their money so nobody cares (or gets fired). 2) The more convoluted the journey, the more man hours the journey requires. This facilitates empire building by the postal workers' union while at the same time increasing job security for the individual employee. So it's a win, win situation for the post office workers. The only losers are those tracking the shipment and complaining about it on discussion forums. ;) |

Here's a picture of a card, because I rarely get a chance to post this one.

Lesson learned - USPS is a shell of it's former self. If you must use USPS, pay the difference and insist on Priority Mail or better.
Lesson learned - Post nothing until you gain the facts. Especially in a public forum. Lesson learned - (learned over and over and over) If it seems too good to be true, it is. Lesson learned - There are a lot of true hobby experts on this forum, who offer good, sound advice, and who are truly helpful when things go wrong. Lesson learned - There is another element that seems to exist only to appear all-knowing. In attempting to "one up" them, it escalates into an ill-conceived rant, giving them the satisfaction they desperately crave. Lesson learned - NEVER post your misfortune in a public forum. |
Did we every get to the reason that the tracking # wasn’t provided to the buyer?

You’d think the post office would have record of the original intended address ..
But then they’d have to explain why it was delivered in the wrong city *♂️ |

Today's a special treat because you don't often get to run into one of these creatures in the wild! The locked thread is one of the most interesting in the whole internet outback, but not much is known about the life of this fascinating beast. Now I'm going to teach you all about the stages of The Locked Thread's life. Come along! 1. First the thread is born into the internet outback full of hope and optimism, but it's gotta watch out! It's a dangerous place out here. 2. The other inhabitants of the outback start circling the thread, studying its every move. Will this thread be a friend or foe. The inhabitants start picking sides. 3. Oh crickey! A battle has taken form by The Locked Thread between two other inhabitants. These can get vicious and down under we call them "the battle for the last word." 4. The Battle for the Last word becomes the paramount thing in the life of The Locked Thread. These engagements can last for days and add mutiple pages to the thread. Now it can easy for other inhabitants to get sucked into these fights but they have to careful! These creatures battling for the last word are ornery fellas and they often have letters attached to their title following their name and they'll use that sharp education to cut down any bystanders wanting to join in the fun. 5. Someone posts a card. 6. Bored with current activities, some bystanders will try to return to their daily lives. Common activities in this section of the Outback include referencing Seinfeld and name dropping obscure 1940's Jazz performers born West of the Mississippi. 7. One inhabitant seeing the chaos the new thread has brought into the land, sees an opportunity for an easy meal and posts something as close to political as possible - but without being political - hoping to out a prey that just can't help but take the bait. But be careful matey the Apex Predator of the land is watching closely and his ban hammer can take out any inhabitant of these plains with one swing! 8. Oh no! The Battle for the Last Word has taken a turn. These two furry creatures have done forgotten what they were battling for and are now fighting over something else - usually meanings or interpretations. If we're lucky we'll see one of them quote Webster's Dictionary! 9. Weary from days of strain the new thread weakens. It grew to big to fast and now no one even knows what its place in this outback is even for... 10. Circling the new thread from the beginning, the Apex Predator of the land - The Mighty Moderator - mercifully puts it out of its misery and locks it forever. But don't worry friends, the Locked Thread served its purpose and is an important part of the internet outback's ecosystem. See you fellas next week! An awesome member and I are going through a similar situation; my man has been on it since the get go. He put an insurance claim in about a week ago. Package has been MIA since 2/24. Do these things ever turn up out of the blue? Since the claim went in, I can’t track the package any more. Kind of sad. A 115 year old card winding up in some facility In Philadelphia

Uhhh...just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water...take a look at this. Yes, Octavio's package WAS marked as "Out For Delivery". But I think whoever received it realized it wasn't for them, and now it's back in circulation again. This beats anything:

You previously reported they had been DELIVERED. Was there a scan showing an actual delivery? Out for delivery is not the same thing. That just means it was given to the carrier.

So today I receive from my local Post Office - 3 different packages - all containing car parts - all addressed to someone that lives in Washington State. Over 1 year ago - I moved here to Central Missouri. USPS should probably introduce a basic Reading Skills test for all potential employees. |
