Well, I know two things about my 54 Duke card now...
1. Needs upgrading! A little disappointed pulling this out of the binder 2. No "." in the I variation, of which I didn't know until Al posted and it seems of all the ones so far mine is the only one! :) Asides Al's of course...is it really that rare Al? I'll now save this one when I upgrade. Gotta love any Duke card! https://i.ibb.co/DCFjszC/54-32-Duke.jpg |

Dotted or not? Very light dot I guess.

Saw him pitch in game one of the 64 World Series. Fortunately for the Cardinals that day he did not pitch well

After two 18-win seasons in 1950 and 1951, and a 12–12 record in 1952, Parnell went 21–8 in 1953 with a 3.06 ERA and a career-high 136 strikeouts. On July 14, 1956, he no-hit the Chicago White Sox, 4–0, at Fenway Park. The no-hitter was the first for a Red Sox pitcher since Howard Ehmke in 1923, though this would prove the final highlight of Parnell's career, which would come to a premature end after the 1956 season, due to a torn muscle in his pitching arm. It would take 52 years until another Red Sox lefty would throw a no-hitter, a feat accomplished by Jon Lester in 2008.
Parnell still holds the Red Sox career mark for left-handed pitchers in games started, innings and victories. https://i.ibb.co/FXH8n82/54-40-Mel.jpg |

In 1963 Groat along with Boyer, White and Javier made up an all Cardinal infield for the NL in that year's All Star game

As I scan and prep my 54's it's nice to see this set in much better condition than my 53's...:)
