Graders should take a large box of cards home and grade them there! :D
I can hear it now, "Where did I put that box of cards?"! |
PSA just sent an email saying all operations in Orange County, California have ceased.
Looks like we are stuck on assembly for a while.:( :cool::cool::cool: |

Hey, at least when this saga plays out 7-8 months from now your cards will be safely entombed in slabs of plastic.
|
And look on the bright side. Any modern cards you sent to PSA in this "submission" will be coming back as vintage! :)
|
Looks like PSA is (sorta) back in business.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ April 15, 2020 Dear PSA Customers, First of all, I hope this message finds you and your family healthy and safe during this unprecedented time. The COVID-19 pandemic has presented challenges for all of us as we continue to try and slow the spread. Second, as it pertains to business, I want you to know that PSA appreciates your continued support. You each represent a vital part of the hobby and we thank you for your loyalty and patronage. As we previously reported, the company ceased authentication and grading operations in our California and New Jersey offices on March 20, 2020. Following today’s corporate announcement, PSA is slowly reopening its California operation, bringing back a limited crew of employees, effective immediately. That said, safety is our top priority. We have implemented a number of health and safety measures, including changing the configuration of our workstations and limiting the number of employees that may be onsite at any time in order to maintain social distancing. We are also regularly sanitizing our offices and adopting other health and safety protocols. During this time, while you may see some order movement, please be patient as we are still not back to full capacity and therefore service levels remain limited. Please note that we are able to accept orders at Economy service and higher, but are not able to currently accept Bulk orders. PSA autograph and memorabilia authentication services are accepting orders in California only. PSA’s New Jersey office remains closed. We know things are slow for everybody right now, but we will survive this pandemic and hopefully be back to full capacity soon. This is a small step in the right direction towards that goal. Be safe, Steve Sloan President |
Looks like the Incredible Bulk cards from oct might be moving! Hoping for grades soooooon
Good luck everyone! I am new around here and have about 60 T206 that I am interested in grading (nothing amazing, except that they are T206s!). Maybe I can jump in on one of these in the future.
For what it's worth, I made a phone call yesterday. Not sure how much good it will do. Was told what I already knew. They are operating on a skeleton crew. They will be working on the oldest orders first, yadda yadda. The card is still on assembly with TWO errors reported on labels. One involves a Non-Sports card (vintage autos) that has the wrong car in the label and the other is some kind of old card that was labeled the wrong back. Sorry, so much time has passed I forgot the exact ordeal, but that is it in a nutshell. I'm not sure they are ready to move forward even without the two errors.
Thanks Bobby! We know it ain't you
For Information Only
I just got an email that a PSA order I mailed on 12/29/19 has shipped.
All things considered I suppose 4+ months isn't too bad. |
I keep forgetting about the submission, then get reminded when someone updates this thread. I'm betting by the time the pop comes, it'll feel like getting free graded cards!
I'll take the over John! I doubt ANYONE thought it would take this long. Here's to good poppage |
So I'll ask the obvious question. Why are December bulk submissions popping before our early October one? I understand that we have a couple of errors in the group, but is that really holding up completion by 2 months?
Maybe we'll get the december sub back before the october sub..
|
Both errors have been resolved. The cards are in assembly still, but seeing the labels corrected to what they should be is promising.
Apparently, the submitters are responsible for catching their own errors. I caught two, but out of 500 cards, many of which I am unfamiliar with, I apologize if I missed some. |
I have no clue what I submitted!:eek:
Found my list 1. 1910s Wall, Nichols Company – Duke Kahanamoku Hawaiian Souvenir Playing Card 2. T207 Terrance Turner 3. T207 George Mogridge 4. 1909 Ogden’s #55 Jack Johnson Phew! |
There are two outstanding subs. Was this on the Oct sub or the December sub? |
Since we have turned a pretty major corner, let me pose THIS question. As usual, I will post the grades here, with the cert numbers omitted (Thanks to some joker deciding to add cards on the group sub to a phantom registry). If there is ANYONE who is not cool with the grades being posted here, SPEAK NOW or FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE!!!
Has any one been getting grading submissions back from PSA? SGC? If so, what level and how long? Thanks! |
I'm hearing they are 2 weeks behind in shipping alone. If that gets your Hopes up
Yeah, it's pretty bad, but I'm told they have "top men" working on it... https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b8/d6...f4ae7fc843.jpg |
Excellent reference!!!
Next submission, instead of shipping to PSA, maybe send the wad to the monkey house at your local zoo. They might even be faster processing and returning the sub and . . . big and . . . their collective grading couldn't be any worse. Just toss in a few bananas with the cards to speed up the process. :D
So if I'm reading this correctly, a submission from last October is still in process at PSA? I sincerely hope that isn't true.
I didn't know what QA phase whatever meant in terms of it's progress. I also didn't know if "woot" meant "woof" or something else. I'm a dinosaur....
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing The first link is cards 1-400. The second link is cards 401-484. Apparently the limit is 400.....lol |
There's an amazing amount of variety in that sub - thanks for tackling this, Bobby!
Thanks for running Bobby.. much appreciated.
Very interesting results on my end a Trout 2012 Heritage that had a corner nick got a PSA 10, while my 1989 Ken Griffey Jr Upper Deck, which i thought was the best of the bunch got a PSA 5. And my 1982 Topps Cal Ripken which I pack pulled got a N6: Minimum Size Requirement. |
