Sold the set-complete (520 of 524, minus "big 4") a few years ago. Collecting the E93 thru E98 but it's a slow process, got bored so started acquiring some of these back again in dupes, trips and then some ;)

Raw seen here, many graded as well. Some acquired in April, most all late last year and YTD

As I said in another thread, I thought I would make a run at that Marquard, but " I am not worthy!" Great card. Congrats!

So, I know some of you guys don't take a shine to beaters, but to me, these are some of the best cards I own. When I first started collecting, I thought I could never get an example of either of these two. Yet here they are. Funny, I was reading an old thread, and someone was describing a Demmitt with writing on the front, and right after that I found this one, and thought, "Well, it doesn't bother me too much." I think it is the nicest Demmitt I've seen for (barely) under $1K in the last two years. And I love this Cobb image, maybe I will be able to get the T216 Cobb leaning on bat someday after all!

I found this T213-2 that is miscut top to bottom and has a little bit of Zimmerman, Chicago Nat. on top.

Very proud to have my very own 33 Ruth. Started with the red one. I think I will go for the full standing pose next when my bank account recovers.

+1 Great cards. I love the 21 Exhibit set!

Very happy to add this postcard (RPPC) to the collection. The card is georgous in hand, only minor blemish is small light right upper corner crease. Image is very sharp and glossy. I know it's in Lemke's book as 1920's PC, and mentions the #210 and how he's seated in cane chair etc... Just curious if anyone had anymore info on this PC if it may be part of a series? Maybe something to do with the movies? Would love to hear any ideas on origin. Guesses on year(s) etc...

Hi Erick, nice pickup! I have one very similar to yours, but with just a slightly different back. Unfortunately, I can't add anymore than that.

yanksfan09 04-25-2016 10:58 AM

Very nice Gary. That's interesting with the different back, thanks for the post!

Except Joey (hi Joey) has been warned multiple times for soliciting offers to buy, sell or trade on this board after promising not to, in order to be allowed back. He is not allowed on our BST forums for a reason (actually many reasons if I recall correctly). He had many selling and trading issues some time ago.
Granted it's been a few years but it seems the ban is still necessary. In essence he is skirting the rule in order to generate interest to sell things. At least that is the way it looks to me.

ps...I should add, otherwise in ordinary cases I agree with you 100%

...This one may be a tough sell to The WidowGarcia....from a " barely 'Fair' " to a solid "Fair".....in my opinion , by replacing a card with wrinkles on the face and horrid corners with one which has oh okay a few faint stains but now the wrinkle is 'way over on the neck and the corners are really decent ( for a fair card )......right about here is where I started babbling " homina homina homina ".

Further testament that this site is awesome. I had missed a 1914 Zeenut variation that I needed on ebay and when I figured it out the buyer (a board member) sent it to me for "future considerations." You can't get better members than we have here!

1.) I had the Large image of Leard but needed the "small" Leard...
http://starsofthediamond.com/14zeeleardpair2.jpg

2.) I used me "ebay Bucks" to get a card I had always wanted (admittedly NOT baseball, but the Stanley Cup playoffs are going on so why not!). 1932-33 O'Keefe's Beverage Ltd. Coaster of King Clancy...

...The seller said he thought it might be from the 1933 All Star game. Sounds about right. Others on here would know for sure so thanks guys....

..The Orcajo Dimaggio with the curious stains on the back is just in the scan for scale ; I've had it for years ; I bought it back when I had money..

Being one of the worst spellers ever, I always enjoy the misspelling of Puglistic !!! The T226s are great cards, used to own a few, now only Young Donahoe. I'd would have hated to be the copywriter who made that mistake

Although it is still better than the T225s, were someone misspelled the company name !!! Khedivial vs. Khedival :p

nothing much added here ..................

That is one of the things that attracts me to these cards. And the names, I mean who wouldn't want to be known as "Fighting Dick?"

the 'stache 04-30-2016 11:27 PM

Aaron, congrats on the Ruth. That's a real beauty!

A.J. all four of those ports have great eye appeal, especially the Lajoie. That's another example of how harsh PSA's being with their grading right now. Presents much better than its grade.

Sam, I've been considering some exhibits, myself. They'll need to wait a while, but they seem to be a slightly more affordable option. I especially like that Wajo. And your Huggins port is a real blazer.

Erick, nice upgrade on the Wagner.
