Catalog finally arrived today (next door to Pasadena, CA),
a full ten days after the first person received their catalog
and started this thread!

My catalog arrived Sat @ precisely 3:04:17 PM on my side door stoop. Sorry I am so tardy in reporting!:rolleyes:

One very heavy catalog arrived today in Victoria, British Columbia.
Nine bids down on the first day, still ahead on seven. There will be blood.

Catalog arrived today. I will have something to do at work the rest of the week!!

I still have not received mine either - in St. Louis. Even the pony express was faster.....

Got my catalogue today. That is one heavy sucker! Quality catalogue. REA obviously can't be hurting ... :rolleyes:

Catalog showed up yesterday, magnet did not :)

Somehow I ended up getting 2 catalogs yesterday. :confused:

I consigned some items, but no catallog arrived.:confused:

I haven't received mine either. While I'm not a consignor, I did have a couple successful bids last year. Thought maybe this year I would receive it early, as opposed to later than more like the previous years.

I got one earlier in the week.

I have had flashbacks to reading the Sears catalog as a kid and circling all the toys I wanted.

I'm afraid most of the items in the REA catalog are as far (or farther) out of my reach today as those toys were when I was 7!

Still fun to dream and drool and, yes, smell.

CNN is reporting my REA catalog is being held hostage by the Russians in eastern Ukraine.

I knew it......Putin has a little extra jing in his pocket lately so I'm thinking he'll be big time player in some of these auctions ;)

Since we don't use fridges in Canada, I will offer up my magnet to whomever wants it.

This is true. We just keep our perishables in the snow bank outside the kitchen window. :D

Still no catalog in Missouri. I live near St Joseph so maybe its coming on the Pony Express...

I feel bad. Kenny hasn't gotten his catalog yet, but I just got a second one in the mail today.

Maybe you could send Kenny your extra catalog? Or maybe he could come stay with you until the auction ends?

Or better yet, just place the bids and buy whatever Kenny wants ;)

I find it so funny that all of you guys are upset about missing magnets and not one person has mentioned the groundbreaking way Rob and REA sent out catalogs this year. I mean really what other auction house has sent out catalogs like this? Satin finished gold iPads preloaded with the catalog and $1000 off "any" sale coupon. All presented in a beautiful black lacquer presentation keepsake box.

After all this and you guys still have the nerve to bust his chops about a freaking magnet….unreal you all should be ashamed.

John- I think there are various boxes depending on your typical spending level. Maybe someday you'll get the catalog in one of these, like I did. ;)

Hey I'm not complaining at all, just got clarification from Rob as to why my catalog is late this year, turns out I'm one of the select few who is having Chuck Norris personally deliver the catalog to my doorstep.....this ensures safe delivery and without the possibility of it being stolen from my front porch ;)

.......yes you heard right, Chuck will stay with the package until I arrive home and take delivery. What I'm thinking is this a trial run for this year with the possibility of it being the standard delivery method going forward if deemed successful.....

Complaining? Hell, I love the REA catalog. I was just bummed out that I didn't get the magnet...was kinda looking forward to it when a few guys mentioned we were getting one this year. I don't see anything wrong with guys saying they got one or not...some guys got two! :eek:

Mike, do you understand sarcasm or humor by chance? Just wondering? :)

rob emailed me, magnet on way --- I appreciate that -- but the wish book is always the real prize.

Not a scientific poll, but magnets may only be going out to those who secretly buy Miley Cyrus C.D.'s.

I finally got my satin finished gold iPad, I love the new REA app. It ties my bids directly to my bank account and even automatically increases my line of credit with my bank to ensure a win every time. What a great app. Click it and Forget it. I do not have to lose sleep over whether I put a high bid in or not. I hope they have this idea patented.

I hear that they are working with Amazon on some type of drone delivery service of catalogs directly to your door for their next auction.

What next a holodeck virtual presence system where I can check out items before I bid?

I got a magnet, but I didn't buy the Miley Cyrus CD secretly. Why would I keep it a secret? I always am first in line when those sweet sounds of angelic tunes are released to us poor saps just longing for a reason to be happy that we have the gift of hearing after a long day of coworker complaints and sounds of traffic.

Marty I agree love the REA app! It even tells you which items are stolen at a glance which of course is most all of the items in the catalog etc. :)

That's funny Kenny. I live about 100 yards off of the Oregon Trail/Pony Express route in Wyoming (I can see the old wagon ruts at my mail box). Maybe one of my two copies was yours! :D

I did get mine in St. Louis on Monday. No magnet, but it feels like my eyeballs are constantly being pulled towards the pages. It is so much nicer to see the catalog than to review it online.

Received my REA catalog directly from the company yesterday. The copy from the printer is still MIA.

Got my catalog today....hope people who want to bid on my ball have received one...lol

Have lost all hope here in central N.C.

Got last years catalog out and went through it to ease the pain.

This is as bad as getting dumped by Kate Upton!

I would suggest contacting REA directly. I sent them a message a couple weeks after other people received theirs and they shipped me one directly. They said I would probably receive another one from the printer but it has yet to arrive.

I'll same day express mail you my catalog if you have Kate Upton to trade!! :D

To this point, all catalogs have been mailed, except for those requested in the past day. By now, all catalogs should have arrived to anyone on our permanent mailing list, anyone who requested catalogs during the early part of the auction, and anyone who let us know their catalog did not arrive during the initial mailing. We have sent many catalogs directly from our office to ensure they are mailed and received in a timely fashion. When you send out as many catalogs as we do, there are bound to be some that go missing or do not arrive. We have found that there is usually a good explanation (incorrect address, unable to forward, etc.).

If you have not received a catalog yet and would like one, please e-mail us at info@robertedwardauctions.com with your name and mailing address. We will send you one immediately. We appreciate everyone's interest in the catalog and it is our pleasure to send them out!

3:06AM EDT, May 19th I received a fair warning auction would be closing soon.

This year it lists 9:00pm as closing.

Thanks chris, that helps....I guess if the fair warning went out at 3:06, then the auction was probably done by 3:30 EDT.

I don't think this years auction will close at 9pm....heh. That's probably the deadline for initial bids :)

Last year actually ended around 4:45 AM. I remember waking up early, seeing it was still open, trying to place a bid and missed my chance by a few seconds.

Just to clarify the ending process for those wondering:

9 PM EST is the deadline for initial bids to be placed. You must have an initial bid placed on any item you wish to pursue during extended bidding.

At 9 PM EST, extended bidding begins and the ENTIRE auction will stay open until no bids have been received on any item for a period of 15 minutes.

We encourage everyone to use the Recent Bids feature tonight to get an idea of the action as the night progresses.

As many can attest, it's a great way to see what's getting bid on and to gauge the activity level. If bids are coming in at 100 per 5 minutes, then the auction is clearly still in full swing. If they start slowing down to 5 minutes between bids, then the auction is clearly slowing down and could close soon.

After 12 AM EST (midnight), we may close the auction any time without reference to the 15 minute rule. Historically, the auction has stayed open until after 3 AM EST (including past 4 AM EST last year), but there is uncertainty after 12 AM EST (midnight).

We encourage everyone to consider using the Honest Auto Bid system to leave bids as it gets later in the evening.

Welp, I'm out on lot 400. If it had managed to stay below $1,000 before closing night, I'd have made one last bid. But $1,305 including the juice is just too much for those 4 cards, as much as I like them.

I'll just have to console myself with my new Johnson portrait. I'm just looking to find one I like. :D
