Now I have all of the "A's" (alphabetical, not Philadelphia) and inching closer to the 400 mark. |

This was sort of an impulse buy and my first R315.. but will be psyched to add this early Foxx to my collection..
Attachment 111082 Also looking forward to receiving these E120 from the BST... thanks Brian! Attachment 111083Attachment 111084 |
A couple of great additions to your collection there, Ian!
I've been reading quite a bit about Jimmie Foxx. I've always felt he has been a tad underrated as far as the game's all-time great power hitters go. I'd put him in the same category with Ralph Kiner in that regard. At some point this fall, I'll be looking to add a '34 Goudey Foxx to my collection. Both the '33 and '34 Goudey sets are really growing on me. I was looking at Rob Miller's '33 set, and it's incredible. I see why they're both so popular with collectors. What I'd really love to have is the '34 Goudey Lou Gehrig # 37. I took one look at John's (Wonkaticket) card, and fell in love with it. Mine would be a lower graded one, obviously, but still have great eye appeal. |

I bought this raw from bbcard1 about a year ago. Had a bunch of SGC stuff heading to Jersey, so, threw him in just to get slabbed. Fully expected an A. I was very surprised and don't expect to ever get rid of it.

Geno my old virtual friend, we go back a long time but for your sake, I sure do hope you realize that the Rube Manning you received from Pat is not a T202 card.
As a sidebar, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit this, but for the past couple of years I've had a saved postcard search on My eBay. Actually, since I'm practically opening-up my inner soul to you guys, I'll also admit that sometimes I search the postcard section before I hit the baseball card section. Okay........I'm feeling a little bit better now! Here are my pickups: Attachment 111892 Always fascinated by interracial players from the pre-war card era. By chance does anybody recognize the team on the uniform logo ("S")? Attachment 111893 And finally, I just love this pic. I'm always amazed at how close the infielders and outfielders played during the early part of the pre-war card era. Attachment 111895 "Lovely Day!" |
Hey Iggy, cool pickups. That integrated team is the Nebraska State Prison team. I've had some images of them in the past along with images of the warden (large white dude on right) posing with other groups from the prison. You can PM me if you want and I can send you the other images I have.
Here he is on the right of this band photo. Warden WT Fenton. http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/...pse08d8ef7.jpg |
T202 vs T205

Good to here from you, and nice postcards!! I still hunt down the occasional T202, but have moved into Sovereigns as well. Keeps me busy! Take Care, Geno |

Couple of neat Photo Postcards.... 1904 & 1908
1. First is Indoor Ball Team State Champions "Co. F" associated with the Military out of Walton, New York. The back stamp dates it to 1904... Still trying to hunt down info on these guys. I really like the Uniforms! 2. 1908 Eastman College Football Team out of Poughkeepsie, New York. Seems to be even tougher to find info, but I did find the 1909 Baseball team in the Spalding Guide... Not sure how or why I did the back scans bigger than the front? Oh well:) |

Nice pair of PCs though! P.S. Phil - nice Willard Brown (not to be confused w/ Ray). Way too many Browns for one thread!!! |

I'll sell some of the lower grade ones raw, and send in a bunch for grading. There's a handful that I need for my SGC 40 set that should come back at that grade. |

For me, what is even more exciting, is purchasing a framed display of T206s, with no idea what the backs are. I've been able purchase around 8 of these, and I love doing it! One included 6 tolstois, 3 AB 460s, and 4 Sovereign 460s. |
