1899 louisville Team Photo

2 Attachment(s)
So I realize that these reach guide photos arent worth much, but I think they re pretty cool considering their age and relative affordability... This is a 4x6 of the 1899 louisville team which included notables Honus Wagner, Rube waddell, & Fred Clarke... It also doesn't hurt to have a good custom framer who knows how to bring these things to life!!!

novakjr 07-24-2012 05:49 PM

David. I've always thought that the guide pages look great framed. I've got a handful in smaller frames above the opening between my living room and kitchen. They're nice period pieces that make for great decor. Your piece looks awesome the way it's matted.

Great pickup on the pillow-top Leon. It's strange that only the Evers image isn't the same as a D381

Nice 10's Jason ! That Series 7 Dussault card can be a pesky one to locate.

Howe’s Hunter 07-30-2012 11:40 AM

Huge thanks to Stuart for number 209

Got an email from Stuart, saying he had found this in his collection and asking if I was just keeping a data base of Howe's cards, or actually trying to collect them all. I responded I would really like to add this one to the collection, and all he wanted to know was my address.

<a href="http://s150.photobucket.com/albums/s81/T206ster/?action=view&amp;current=209-Westlake.gif" target="_blank"><img src="http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s81/T206ster/209-Westlake.gif" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Nice treat to find out it even had the Old Mill back. We talked about what was on the back, but not about the back itself. Thanks again, Stuart.

Of the 209, 21 have Old Mill backs, eight have Hindu backs, and the rest are Piedmont.

Just got this card back from SGC. Thanks to everyone who helped me identify this card correctly. I was the underbidder during the SCP auction, but managed to win the card when it was listed again in a recent Heritage auction.
